Cool

I like the older versions better. I really don't like the 01-02s.

BTW: BadAzz516, those Boyds are simply AWSOME!

My first choice would be to go with aftermarket custom 20's and hang on to the originals if you ever want to put it back to stock. I've never been a real big fan of the stock rims, and to me, wheels give a vehicle its own personality and differentiates it from everyone elses truck. There are a ton of wheel choices available and there should be one that definitely suits your taste.

Use the force...

This seems to be a matter of personal taste. I don't object to either. Take into consideration if you go with the 99/00 style people will think that your truck is slower and weaker ...you know only making 345hp rather than 380hp and 450ft/lbs of torque!! But if people snickering and laughing and pointing at you constantly don't bother you then go ahead with them 99's. Note that it is a universal belief that people mod the 99/00 so that they can keep up with the 01/02's so don't think that your mods will get back the respect you lost with those wheels, people will only mumble just loud enough for you to hear "the smart thing to do would be to just go and buy a new one". But alas the decision is yours and yours alone, don't let anyone of us change your mind.

I just went to a set of chrome '02 rims, and my silver ones likely will end up on the wife's Expy. I like the style, stayed 18" so I can use my drag radials, and get lots of compliments on it so far.

I hope your joking...99' -00' are 360 hp stock and your gearing doesnt help you as much as your thinking.

wow, seems you have some sort of problem with the 99-00 models, I dont think anyone who owns a 99-00 is trying to "keep up with the 01-02s"...thats a retarded thing to say...I sure dont consider my truck as being inferior to the 01-02s...after all we dont break our drive shafts like the 01-02s do...and dont blow rods like you do either

360hp vs. 380 hp is not the advantage you obviously think you have

99/00 style are my favorite!

The 01/02's are still very pretty though, and the new 03's are ok but I don't care for them at all.

OOOOHHH I forgot to mention that they put them highway gears in the 99/00 so that they could attain the 140mph mark as they didn't make enough hp to do it with the 3.73's. And ok ok ok I know that your brochure says 360hp but a more accurate figure is like 345 as Ford fell short and just upped the number a bit for looks but if you want to argue the point I'll concede. Your truck came stock with a measly 360hp and not the MACHO 380hp that the ones with the pretty wheels came with!!

wow, seems you have some sort of problem with the 99-00 models, I dont think anyone who owns a 99-00 is trying to "keep up with the 01-02s"...thats a retarded thing to say...I sure dont consider my truck as being inferior to the 01-02s...after all we dont break our drive shafts like the 01-02s do...and dont blow rods like you do either
I don't have a problem with them as I don't own one besides I told the original thread starter to use them if he wanted to.

Now you are taking shots at me personally by saying I'm retarded. Well the only thing thats retarded is YOUR TIMING as you try to make more boost to keep up with DA 02's.

You shouldn't consider your truck inferior....what kind of owner would do that. Thats like considering your child inferior because he/she can't run as fast as the neighbor's child (who happens to be a year or two younger)....what kind of parent would you be?

You don't break drive shafts because you don't make enough torque.

As far as blowing rods go, the stock trucks don't blow the rods. The modded trucks blow rods. Think about it....take a 380hp engine and add 6additional pounds of boost and a chip vs. a 345hp (or whatever you say it is) and add 6 additional pounds of boost and a chip Now which one is making more power?? Its the stress of all that power over the 99/00 that exists in the 01/02's thats breaking rods. Hell if you took that 02 with the chip and pulley and removed 35 hp the rods would be safe in that one too. Sometimes we are too strong(hp) for our Damn Selves!

Btw I am only joking....have been from my first post I just wanted to start some crap and have fun with someone.

Nasty-

The two main differences between the 99/00's and the 01/03's to get that 35 hp is....

1) Larger maf and fender opening for the cold air intake...

2) A better tune on the computer...

So, 99/00's with a cone filter and chip are making the same power as the 01/03's with filters and chips...

As for the gear ratio.... well... MAYBE you have an advantage in the 60 ft, but the 3.92 ratio will have a higher top end, and higher mph in the quarter.

So... only some one without the proper knowledge MIGHT think that it's a "slower" STOCK 99, but then again, it's hard to find a stock one....

20's

Personally, I like the 99 style the best. But the 03 style is pretty nice too. Of course, when my factory 99s were stolen, I replaced them with a set of 20in replicas in silver.
Red00, did you get chrome or silver?
