After reading this message board for over a year all I can say is this, the things that I have read have made me decide ,for now, not to modify my truck. We are obviously here for one reason, to talk about modding the trucks we love and drive and tell eachother about our experiences. We learn form each other and should help each other. Yes there will be disputes but I think that it is a shame when two profesionals consistently attack eachother. Sometimes one starts it sometimes it is the other. I dont have the answer but I know that this is not it and this board as a comunity can not survive with this type of division. I will get up on Monday and go to work, and so will most of us but how long will the tuners survive by striking out aginst eachother.

I use to always post on "The Corral" and on "SN95" in relation to my mustang and never did I see the attacks that I see here.

I have been reduced to a Lightning junkie that cant get his fix because he cant tell who's smack is the best and who's will make me OD.
I know exactly how you feel my friend. All this bullsh#t has me wondering "WHAT THE F#CK".

I'll email you the name of a tuner you can trust and actually acts professional.

This crap will surely blow over....eventually?...maybe????...better still who cares. Anyway...check out the tuner I send you...he won't jack ya around.

I think that this is a New York -VS- New Jersey thing.

Captain, You're right, I have not modded my "virgin" because I have been worried about it because of my prior experience with my 98 Cobra Vert. Ford claimed that my exhaust grenaded my tranny 3 times! The mechanics and lawyers changed their tune at trial. (An exhaust caused the tranny to explode 3 times????)

I will EVENTUALLY mod my L, after she's out of warranty. Who am I going to my "go fast parts" from?... Sal, cause he's closer to my house.

They both do a great job on our Gen II trucks, if you choose EITHER OF THEM, you'll pick up HP and pick up your times in the 1/4 mile. This thread however, IMO, makes them both look bad. I can't figure out who threw the first stone, and frankly, I don't care. We all want to go fast, PICK YOUR GO FAST DUDE AND LEAVE THE OTHER GUY OUT OF IT. They are both doing a great service for us, but at the same time, making themselves look like ****, for crapping on each other.

I'll tell ya'll the funny part of this. There are a whole boatload of new Lightning owners lurking this forum and looking for how they may be able to mod there new girlfriends. They see all this B.S. going on and the tuners can kiss the mod money from them good bye.

Welp, i would personally boycot Kooks if its just an exclusive deal. Esp with the kind of person Jim is.

Now, if you really want more headers available at a lower price, i could probably swing that for you Sal.. Hit me up in email. Everyone knows, most parts come from CA Right Jimbo?

I bet if Kooks reps saw this thread they would think twice about the exclusive arrangement. After all they do want to protect they're reputation.

Hmmm, I can think of one tuner NOT debating this useless (but highly entertaining) thread.

His parts are well designed and service awesome. Not many will dispute such...

JL where are you???!!!!

you are incorrect sir

Don ( ordered a KB because JDM never came thru on the 166)
Don was running a prototype works blower that eventually self distructed as you all will know. I will attest to the fact that the thing never worked correctly from the time Don got it. The bypass would not ****ion correctly. This and the bad bearing led to failure which I believe did some damage to Don's new motor, which happened to be pulling him 11.9's by the way, which isn't bad for a truck running a blower that was malfunctioning if you ask me.

By the way, i still never heard the few appologize to JIM when they blamed him for screwing with Don's blower and causeing it to fail, when Magneson finally came out and owned up to it.

Sal, as much as I repect you, you could have bit your tongue if you disagreed with Jim. You were to blame for throwing the post of track, not that it wouldn't have happened eventually anyhow..haha.

I could start a post about how I like popcorn , and somehow it would turn into, yeah, well one day I was eating popcorn and I called JDM and he lied to me. Then he stole my money and I couldn't buy anymore ****ing popcorn.

Soooooooo Hey Rich, how bout that exhaust???? Sound's good buddy

Pat your tranny went 3 times because it was a known issue.
Mine went when it was brand new. I simply walked in to the dealership on a Saturday afternoon while it was packed with customers screaming like a ****ing raving maniac in front of all the potential Ford Buyers. They over nighted my parts and had it back to me in less than half a day. Left it there Saturday afternoon, and picked it up Monday by lunch time, oh ya, I also made them change the rear F-1's cause one went flat.

I miss it sometimes

BTW
ICULOKN I think your truck sounds awesome, especially in that 1/4 mile vid

I wanna mod my Navigator to go fast.

Any suggestions?

Wow, has this forum ever become dysfunctional. Can't wait for the next episode of "As the Lightning Turns". Starring Sal and Jim as long lost brothers split at birth and adopted to seperate families only to grow up and be in the same business, not knowing each others true identity.
