I just can't help but wonder a few things.
First; Why would someone jump in on a post and claim something that was completely false. The word "I" means Jim him self spoke to Rich but in fact according to Sal, Jim wasn't even there???? WTF???

Second; what does moving 500 (I doubt all gen 2 L) sets of headers compared to 11 (Most likely all Gen2 L) set of headers have to do with anything? I fail to see how this is relevant in any way to this post. Is that a 'mine is bigger than yours' type of statement or something?

Lastly; Jim are you saying that you designed a set of headers back in 1984 and that same header is being ran on 1999 - 2002 5.4 SC Lightnings?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We were only talking about how good the headers sound with the Bassani cat-back. As for the volume of them, Gen 2's were 90%, 03 Cobras 7% and Gen1's were around 3% of the share.

I am very proud of these headers and it sounds like you guys are too. That's the only reason why I jumped in on the thread.

Calightnin,

There have been times when customers have had to wait up to 6-8 weeks to get there full exhaust systems because the demand was so high. In no way would we have imagined that we would sell 500 sets of Gen2 headers in one year. Im glad you are getting great service from PSP but as it stands the headers still came from us. Now lets all go back to talking about how great these headers are.

Do all headers for the Lightnings come from Kooks?

And is the only distributor in the whole USA JDM?

Please, no BS, no fluff, just the TRUTH, please !!!

This is gonna be my next mod and I really want some options.

Yes Jim, 6-8 weeks would have been fine if that was what you had told me but no.....you told me you had them in stock and would ship them the next day. Two weeks later no headers and when I called to find out where they were I was told on three occasions someone would call me back, because they had to look up the tracking numbers. This did not happen.

That is why I bought the Kooks headers from PSP. Not because you were temporarily out of stock, but because your service was bad. Because I was not told the truth, my truck set with the stock exhaust removed for several weeks when it wasn't necessary. Same story with a torque convertor I ordered from you in the past as well.

As far as this post goes, your first reply to ICULOKN is obviously full of innuendo and baiting tactics aimed at Sal and RTkilla , so you deserve what ever fallout you get.

Jim, please clarify your involvement with PSP regarding the manufacture/sale of Kook exhaust parts.

Great sound clips!!! However, there is no real way to record that setup to accurately project how freaking loud it is. It may sound a bit raspy in the clips, but that is only due to the sound exceding the recording capabilities of the mic.

Richard's truck by no means sounds like a redneck truck, it is pure bada$$. I am sure a number of you out there with a full exhaust would agree, there is nothing out there that sounds like it. Much like a Mustang has such a unique sound, so do these trucks.

As good as it sounds around town at normal speeds, it is even more impressive under WOT. Everytime I go to the track I know when Rich runs, cause it is one of the baddest sounding vehicles out there.

Hopefully he won't mind, but here is a link to a video of Richard at VMP. He, like all of us, was having crappy runs that night, but you get the idea of how his truck sounds.

Calightnin,

I read my post over and over again could you please point out to me where I could have said anything that brought Sal's comment out .
The headers like any new product some days you would sell one and some days you would sell fifteen and when you went to ship them you realized you ony had twelve.
That is why in the past ten month to a year we have concentrated on our inventory.
The only people that are complaining are the people from three years ,two years, to a year ago.
It is completely different now.
All thou we can't win no matter what we do.
We posted a special on fifteen silver bullets when we sold out in a day and a half we re-posted and said the special was over and some members got upset so we re-opend the special and told everybody that they would not be built untill after January.
One guy was left on the bump spot and some of the senior members beat us up for something that happened two or three years ago.
Alot of Lightning owners come to our shop and when they post how busy we are or that our seven phone lines never stop ringing, this is very true.
But there are certain members here that don't beleave it.
So for those members I invite you out here to see what we go through on a daily basis.
A year ago we had three employees today we have thirteen.
Plus we do twenty-five scheduled events a year.
That is two events to Florida, and two events to Texas.
We put forty-five thousand miles on our tow rig in eight months.
90% of our customers were patient while we went through our growing pains.
On our fast moving products like the full exhaust systems we tell everybody two to three weeks.
Even if we have them in stock.
So we can avoid bad posts.

Calightnin,

I do not know how many times that you were promised that your headers would have been shipped out.
A year and a half ago we made alot of mistakes so I am not even going to dispute you.

NOSTROMO,

The only involvement I have with PSP is that they bought headers from us.
Kook's has been in business sense 1950's .
They are world known for the qaulity of their headers.
Last year we became the master distributor for all of Kook's Ford Street Headers.
Their first set of Gen 2 Lightnings was built on our 99.
Their first set of Gen 1 Lightnings was built off of one of our customers 95.
Their Mustang GT was built off of our GT 2001.
Their first set of 03 Cobra's was built off of our Cobra .
The reason for Kook's making us their only Ford Master Distributor is because we sell a large volume.
We are now placing orders with them up to a 100 sets at a time.

Hope this helps
Jim@JDM
