You sell this... I designed that... you weren't there... I do this... you do that... He does this... They do that...
My God, if only all you people could look at yourselfs from the outside in. Does everything have to be some kind of freaking battle? Geez... If anyone here had to name the single worst thing about this message board, it would be the stupid tuner war.
And for other people to get involved in it, who are just customers of this guy or that, is even more confusing. People chose really odd things for their fanatic loyalties...

WOW... Hard to see my thread go up & down so quick!!

FYI....

This is my second set of the Kooks Headers. I have had 3 sets of Long Tubes and they are by far the best.

JDM did sell me my first set when Sal could not get any. The funny thing was I needed them quick and Julie did NEXT DAY them to me. I did hear rumors wondering why I was put before JDM customers, I dont know why that is, but I guess I got lucky. I only spoke to Julie that day and thanked her 100 times, I had a big race to make, and she took care of me. I sold that set when I was going to trade my truck in.

My next set was a Stepped set of headers I bought off NLOC from a guy, I did not like the FLUTTER sound I got from them at all so I sold them as well.

I now have my 2nd set of KOOKS headers on and love them to death, I found a easy way to get KOOKS products a few months back and took advantage of it quickly. To me they are the best set of Headers for any vehicle.....

I dont think any of us PSP guys that run them have tried to say Sal made them, Sal has goten many sets for many of TEAM PSP. If you look at all the tuners headers, they manily just are distributing headers made by other companies.

My Setup is this now....

Kooks Headers, Custom NO Restriction Cats & mid pipes, and a Bassani Cat Back. The Mid pipes I have now were made by Toneys mufflershop in Richmond, VA.

Richard's truck by no means sounds like a redneck truck, it is pure bada$$. I am sure a number of you out there with a full exhaust would agree, there is nothing out there that sounds like it. Much like a Mustang has such a unique sound, so do these trucks.

As good as it sounds around town at normal speeds, it is even more impressive under WOT. Everytime I go to the track I know when Rich runs, cause it is one of the baddest sounding vehicles out there.

Hopefully he won't mind, but here is a link to a video of Richard at VMP. He, like all of us, was having crappy runs that night, but you get the idea of how his truck sounds.

http://hrracing.com/videos/VMP_1Nov2002/lightning3.wmv

Thanks Scott!!

The Mic was getting pegged while recording, I tried but Im no audio setup guy... LOL

Yes that video was of a crappy run back in November. I spun and let out of it and still ran a 12.39 @ 108. That was a bad night for sure but the sound is pretty cool, listen to that EATON whine out the burnout box....

Once again Jim, here you are lying to everyone for the sole purpose of making yourself look better than everyone. You may think it works like that, but most people just laugh when they read some of the stuff you write.

You are NOT the "Master Distributor for all Kooks Ford Street Headers". So why lie? According to Kooks themselves, the only agreement they have with you is that you are the only company that markets their Lightning header. I can buy other headers from them, like the 03 Cobra ones, and so can other people, and so ARE other people. Kooks said you brought them the one off headers you had on your 99 (not made by Kooks), but they didn't care for them so they redesigned them. So why lie?

I bought headers from you because Kooks wanted to sell me headers, but couldn't work around your arrangement. They asked me to buy them from you, so I did. After about a dozen sets or so, I got sick of you screwing me around (kits missing parts, telling me stuff was not in stock, then my customers calls direct and are told they are in stock, etc), so I stopped dealing with you.

I'm also curious what "25" sheduled events you do a year. FFW had 10, WFC is one, you didn't go to any NMRAs and you didn't go to the Mod Shootout. So what are the other 14 events? Hurry up and make some up, so you don't look like you lied about that too.

I hate to even get involved in this crap, but how fair is it to other "honest" vendors, as well as customers, for someone to be able to just make stuff up in the name of self-glorification, and people believe it just because of who the person is. I swear I don't understand how some people can't see this.

Cool Observation

I am new to this community as well as the nloc community, but I bought my lightning in may of 02, and have done a lot of reading on these two sites, as far as I can tell there has been approx 10-1 complants about JDM although they carry quite a line on parts for our trucks. They appear to be unethical and shady buisness people. To quote a wise man Jim perception is reality, I dont favor anyone but how can you bill someone for something and not ship it for 6 weeks. I have never seen payment terms like this in any industry. Just my opinion take it for what it is worth just coming from a potential customer, P.S. Sal please pm me regaurding A chip reburn.

At the risk of getting flamed I am going to say: I don't think it looks good for any vender to be on her bashing each other .You guys are proffesionals and are in a position that needs respect of customers.Bashing and moaning doesn't come off as very profesional.I know you guys get hit pretty hard on here by the members and that it probably dosnt make things feel very good, but let the sh*t roll off your backs and make our trucks faster. This crap is making everybody in this forum look childish. I have delt with some of the venders and have had pretty good dealings I realize that neither of you are as big as Summit or Jegs, so you may not have everything in stock at all times.

I do not mean to be bashing either of you(Jim &Sal) but in my opinion credibility is also measured by how you act and what you say in a public area.

There goes my free parts and sponsorship deals but its just an opinion.Let your product and services speak for themselves.

I probably will regret this in the morning.

BDAZSVT, I do not take offense to your post, and will not hold it against you when you need parts . I totally agree with what you said, and trust me, I'd love to not ever get involved. But it's not right to allow that kind of injustice to go on like it has been. I know my actions will turn some people off, but my hopes are that people will see behind what looks like immaturity, and see the goodness and honesty that I'm trying to bring back to this community.

Will someone please call Kook's Headers and ask them if Sal or anyother vendor for that matter can buy Lightning, Cobra, or GT street strip headers themselves or do they have to go through JDM.
Sizes are Lightning 1 5/8 w/ 2 1/2 collector 1 3/4 w/ 3" collector.
Cobra's 1 5/8 w/ 2 1/2 collector 1 3/4 w/ 3" collector.
GT's 1 5/8 w/ 2 1/2 collector

And post what they are told by Kooks.

Ten Fun Ford Events WFC5, three E-Town Events , Maple Grove Event, two Cecil County Events, two Rockingham NC, F150 at Virginia, Norwalk OH w/ Ford, and for 2003 it will be those events plus Los Angeles County, Firebird International Raceway, Mod Motor shootout in OH, Milen Dragway and Atco.

Sal my first post in this thread was very friendly and you have turned it into shi *t .
Grow up because if you don't you will remain working out of your house for ever.

As someone else said ".....no BS, no fluff, just the TRUTH,..."
I guess thats to hard (or bad for business) for some.

I knew before I ever posted that my post and questions would be ignored, but wasn't shocked to see instead it was used for yet another plug......

If this thread isn't locked (or deleted) I will be shocked.

Wow...

Should I let the tequila talk or not ..... No... Ill hold back...

Guys... This doesnt help ANYONE.

Lets keep it professional.

That includes jumping into each others threads. When a Member asks about a XYZ part it is NOT professional for ABC vendor to jump in as the next post and either offer their part instead OR to put down the quality or function of the competing part.

Steve and I are trying to raise the bar here and we would appreciate it if you guys would lead by example... I know I know - I should too... Maybe someday...

Doug

JeffsLightning

If you call the shop on Monday, we might be able to give you a distributor near you. Alot of our distributors keep them in stock.

Hope this helps
