p.s. I know this is an over simplification. It has been stated that first hand accounts will be allowed if within some ambigious amount of time.

I'm not trying to turn this "ugly". I agreed with Brians post, and I didn't want to have to start ANOTHER thread about this, so I just commented here. I like the new attitude, and I applaude Steve for stepping in and trying to smooth things out. But what happened on that other post, didn't make any sense. The guy comes on here and tells people HIS experiance. Not what happened to his buddy, or what he heard happened two towns over, HIS story. That's not hearsay. Just because the guy doesn't have the presidents seal of approval, doesn't mean what he said is not true. And just because it was his first post, also doesn't mean it's not true. Maybe losing thousands of dollars, is what prompted him to make his first post here. I don't see how that's wrong. It seems that with this new rule, board members can't say anything negative, but SVs can say anything they want? What's up with that? That poor guy didn't even get a chance to make a second post before it was locked.

It has NOTHING to do with positive or negative.
All you could add that wasn't hearsay to that thread was that a person with the same name bought an engine from you. Anything else would be hearsay.
As far as I know none of the original posters comments were removed or edited.

People bitch about the bashing and the childishness - Steve comes up with a decent way to try to control that and bring the forum back to the way it was and that is a problem too...
Rtkilla - The truth .. How do you know what the truth is ? Unless you were there you dont. One way to get closer to the truth is to ignore the hearsay and the BS. Which is what we are trying to do.
Let the "Hog" reference go. It was not appropriate.
And it is not appropriate to keep bringing it up... You might break your arm patting yourself on the back for that one...

You say your name is Doug, I say that's hearsay. A guy posts he ran 11.50, someone says it's hearsay. Somebody else SAW someone do something and posts it, that's hearsay. What's not hearsay sitting behind a computer screen? Ahh, but a SV can come on here and say anything he/she wants, and that's TRUTH?? How do you determine what's true and what's not when we are all sitting behind computer screens?

Everyday its getting worse....
We have one group that TOTALLY hates another and makes up lies to try and hurt them. We have tons of liars that strive on seeing people get worked up. We have tons of people with multiple names posting BS all the time. What do we have to look forward to? A bunch of BS from people that support someone who is not even a Supporting Vendor here. That is were 80% of our negative post's come from. Why dont we stop focusing one tuner and focus on trying to get rid of talk about NON-Supporting ones. It seems easy enuff, I mean you made it so no-one can talk about F L A S V T . C O M easyily.
Look at the recent threads with bashing, isnt it easy to see who they are directed to? If you go to just about ANY other Lightning Board you see the same, 80% comes from a select few. Why dont we focus on that?

That's my biggest gripe with this board, and hopefully something that will change. A single thread could be two pages of factual documentation and/or debate. Instead, cheerleaders come in and turn two pages into 10 pages of "Oh, I wonder how long until this is closed". Which only wastes bandwidth, server resources, and everyone else's time.But, hey, it's a new year, maybe the attitudes of many will change, and people will be contempt to just sit back and watch

I would like to think that all here are adults...With this in mind, is it not correct to say that if you read something here that you do not agree with, or approve of, that you have the intelligence to leave it alone and move on ????
I love the information I have been able to ingest off of these boards. I have read several posts that were pure "BS" but have not fallen for the bait and moved on.
This is a great sight, please have the maturity to pick your battles if you chose to accept them.

I just wanted to say that: I remember a time ( just over a year ago ) when all I did was read posts on this forum to learn about my "L" and never signed up or posted...Those were the good old days!!! Hardly ever did I read anything negative...Then I signed up and started posting....It been HELL since then...sorry I caused all the trouble

Sal is still here and I love each and every post he makes, he is a true enthusiast, he is still very helpful and spends alot of time behind the scenes helping those that need it, even without any accolades. Thanks Sal.
The gentleman that came on and talked about his engine woes wasnt even given the oppurtunity to defend himself. Once JDM made the statement that he couldnt find that persons name in their system, the thread was closed. Nice one way street there guys.
If his story is true, I would hope that he posts more info and evidence to back it up, that way he might be able to help someone from suffering thru the same problem, and that help is what this site is supposed to be about.
People wouldnt bitch about problems with a vendor if there werent any problems to begin with, and one particular company has had a history of poor customer service and lying that this site shouldnt, but somehow does tolerate.
Remember when the words JDM were taboo here? I do.

My privacy must be completely secure, and you must respect it. I'm sure you are well aware of the legal implications that could arise if not. If you can honor that then I will agree to this. I still think this is a ridiculous and highly unethical procedure you are asking, and, quite frankly, I have no damn idea why I'm allowing such.

2 thumbs up thats crazy.......are you kidding me........why i autta........boy if only...........backstabbing why i never...........vendors lying you say...........this is all stupid,maybe F150 should do away with the supporting vendors and put a price on posting how many of you would still be around then????I know I would but i sure would speak my mind alot more about vendors,I have said some things in the past but they are TRUTHFUL AND FACTUAL.Im not even sure why im posting this maybe it is because this site has declined over the past year with noone to blame but ALL of the members myself included, everyone has to chime in whenever a vendor is attacked which i think is wrong.If everyone spoke the truth this site would be much more enjoyable,mods are doing a great job but can only do so much.If you really care about your follow Lightning owners and friends this wouldnt happen,lets get back to the way it was 2yrs ago when i joined,i have made some friends here and would like to think that i will have that chance in the future.
