The exact same thing happened to me last year. It will cost a lot of money to fix.
My plugs were perfect. The holes in the block and oil pan were not good.
Since no one has said it yet. If you play be ready to pay.

I hate to take advantage of your dilemma but... it sounds like you just joined the KABLAMMMO club.

What did it cost you to fix everything? My ford dealer told me that I am covered under warranty still, so I just gotta pull the mods before it goes in. It was about 55 degrees out in the evening when it blew, to answer a previous question.

If it's a new motor that is needed it is OUT of the dealerships hands. They must get approval from Ford and Ford will send out an inspector...I now of someone who also only had 3 mods and what he went through with Ford on a blown engine...The play you pay soldiers are lurking just waiting to jump on you for even thinking that the warranty should cover it

whoever Ford had make the rods for the 01 and 02 didnt make them as strong as the 99-00 distubutor of the rods or they were a bad batch.
No flame intended, but do you have info that Ford changed rod suppliers?
I understand there is no way to tell if there was a "bad batch".
Just curious, because I have a '00.

I know Sal has said that they did, I don't know how he knows though, I think it is just from the fact that most of the blown motors are coming from the '01/02's, I havent really seen any with 99's/00's that I am aware of.

No proof but from talking to Sal and other tuners thats what they seem to guess that Ford switched suppliers during the new build year in 01. Plus thats what alot of people on here and other boards seem to think. So thats what im going by .

My truck was towed from the side of the freeway less than one week after the dealer pulled the engine. It had no mods on the truck except for a borla cat back, a 3" hole in the air box, and mag-hytec diff cover. My warranty was voided. If you can get it fixed more power to you. I wouldn't post where you are from or where the dealer is located. I've lost track of all the money I've spent.

I looked at the motor and didn't see any holes. Where should I be looking and if/what should I see? My oil pressure reads 0, and my dipstick was twisted upon pulling it out.

Either crawl under the truck with a light so you can see the engine from the bottom or look into the wheel wells and see what you can find...

Not Good. Something had to twist it. Looks like a new motor.

Twisted dip stick.

Sounds like a broken rod that didn't penetrate the block. New motor in your future.

Does the PCM store data? Can the dealer pull out mph and rpm information?

silver bolt-

Yeah, the dipstick was twisted round and round. I have a diablo chip that I am going to pull before it goes in. Will they be able to gather any info from that, or that it even existed? Will they even look that far as long as they see the black stock cover piece is back on and over where the chip plugs in? What does a new 5.4 cost? Hopefully they'll warranty it. So a broken rod automatically means a new motor? Thanks for any and all info.

If i pull my 3 mods off and send it to the dealer is it covered?? Have just under 6000 miles on it. What's this cost to fix? Any and all info would be great. Thanks again.

You decided to put a different pulley on the truck and add 60+ horsepower to your car. You blew the motor up. Why should Ford have to pay for this?
