So far I love the KR Leather Conditioner. The smell is nice and I had no hint of the white haze. It was amazing that even with the seats being brand new how fast they sucked it up. It was like I wiped it on and it was gone. I plan to hit it with some more this weekend. I have zero complaints about the product thus far. My new mission is finding a cover for the back that I like. I love the roll n rock cover since you really can't see it unless you are above the truck. However, I do not like the $1300 price tag that comes with it.

Is that the Line-xtra coating? I have been going back and forth with a guy on here that owns a shop located off Camp Bowie in Ft. Worth. That the same guy by chance?

Talking about David and Lisa of Line-X of West Fort Worth? AKA TruckGasim here. If so, I can tell you, you will never find a business that will treat you like family like they will.

Trust me, they are good people.

And yes, I have Line-X with Xtra.

Next time you call David, tell him you know me.

Yeppers you nailed it. Truckgasm is who I have been talking with. I think he is going to send me a email with the specifics. As far as the bed cover goes I am leaning towards the roll n lock or the snugtop. I was something with clean lines. The roll n lock is appealing since you can just slide it open get pretty much full access to the bed vs taking the whole cover off.

Hey Guys, I am new to this forum and have 2 reasons for posting instead of just lurking. I am a KR owner and I am also an interior restoration technician. I went to the CPR leather conditioner site and something that stands out was it said "do not use on suede". We have very expensive aniline leather in our trucks and we want to make sure we use a conditioner that is designed for "unprotected leather" which means it has not been dyed with urethane dyes. That's why condinsation off a soda can will leave a ring. I would shy away from anything that does not state that it is safe for aniline or "unprotected leather" It may look good for a short time but may cause problems with the color down the road. I do lots of recolor jobs on these seats and when I ask the owners what they used to conditon the seats I hear all kinds of stuff. Stay away from Lexol "not for aniline" It will put a coating on the seats that WILL cause problems. Hope it helps. BTW I enjoy and learn lots from you guys.

That is good to know about that Lexol. I have always used that stuff and loved it. Course I was using it on a different kind of leather. Guess I will forever stay away from that stuff. Looks like I will be sticking with the KR Leather Conditioner. I am pretty new here as well Finish. Welcome to the forum.

I don't know....according the the "Heads of State" here in the KR section, both Lexol and LCPR are "approved" products to use.

That said, I know that the Lexal Cleaner is a no no. But this would be the firs time I have heard anyone say do not use Lexol or LCRP.

I've used both and don't see any problems with either. That said, my KR was bought as a program car, and it sat in the sun and they never conditioned the seats, I had to work like hell to get them at least not looking as bad. They are far from the condition of the rear seats, they are still very soft and nice. My fronts are not as soft and still lighter in color.

I have found that using a combination of products works best for me.

FWIW -- I'm on King Ranch #2 (meaning, I've been sitting on Castano now for about 7 years and well over 100K). I've used Lexol Conditioner (brown bottle) since acquiring my first KR in 2001 and my second KR in 2004 (05') and I've never had a single problem with it.

I would caution to avoid the 'pH Balanced Cleaner' (orange bottle) as it is easliy too harsh for the Castano product. But, as for the conditioner, I find it to be a fantastic product with ZERO bad results.

Finishing Touch:

Which conditioner do you recommend:

For the new Chapparel King Ranch Leather?

For the Castrono King Ranch Leather?

Both are analine. Do you recommend to play it safe and use the King Ranch Conditioner from the King Ranch Saddle Shop? I have used some Lexol Conditioner on my older 2005 F250 KR with Castrano, and I have seen signs of repeated use causing the leather to apparently dry out a lot quicker over time. One thing I do not prefer about the King Ranch Saddle Shop conditioner though is the heavy chemical smell of the product that lingers in the vehicle.

i have used a combo of KR conditioner, CPR, and Lexol Conditioner....the seats have come out looking really well. i think i will use lexol conditioner no more than 2 times a year though....the rest of the time i will use the KR conditioner. CPR was OK but it brought out almost a greenish hue to my seat(bottom part)

Wow, this thread again? Anywho, I have used Leather CPR for 4 years now. It gets put on about every other month during Texas summers. It does not leave a haze like the KR stuff.
