Its in the manual. There is a process, and it will prob take you two tries to get it right. It can be tricky.

For the SD

Do as follows:

BeltMinder
One time disable
Any time the safety belt is buckled and then unbuckled during an ignition ON cycle, the BeltMinder_ will be disabled for that ignition cycle only.

Deactivating/activating the BeltMinder_ feature
Read Steps 1 - 5 thoroughly before proceeding with the deactivation/activation programming procedure.
The BeltMinder_ feature can be deactivated/activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that the following conditions are met:
• The parking brake is set
• The gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission)
• The ignition switch is in the OFF position
• All vehicle doors are closed
• The driver’s safety belt is unbuckled
• The parklamps/headlamps are in the OFF position (If the vehicle is equipped with Autolamps, this will not affect the procedure)
While the design allows you to deactivate your BeltMinder_, this system is designed to improve your chances of being safely belted and surviving an accident. We recommend you leave the BeltMinder_ system activated for yourself and others who may use the vehicle. To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the BeltMinder_ feature while driving the vehicle.

BeltMinder_ activation and deactivation procedure
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1 minute)
• Step 3 must be completed within 60 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns off.
3. At a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state.
• After Step 3 is complete, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for 3 seconds.
• If Step 4 does not occur within 10 seconds at the end of Step 3, BeltMinder_ will automatically exit programming mode without changing its enable status.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the BeltMinder_ feature if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
• This will enable the BeltMinder_ feature if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the light off, then followed by the safety belt warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
5. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

I found this in 10 seconds on the net. Search features are cool. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.....

Turned it off on my 150 as well - the light stays on for about 30 seconds then lets me mind my own business!

It also helps that if you're over 18 in Georgia you have the choice to wear a seat belt - pickups are exempt from the seat belt law here because they're not legally considered passenger vehicles, even crew cabs! They have been trying to change this for several years but have not succeeded.

What an absurd law!

Found this on the web:

"Georgia is a primary enforcement state, meaning that police officers are authorized to pull drivers over solely to issue a seatbelt ticket.

Interestingly, Georgia law exempts pickup trucks from the seat belt requirement. The legislature decided not to include pickup trucks in the definition of “passenger vehicle” because of a fear that the law would inconvenience farmers. Georgia is the only state in the nation that continues to exempt safety belt use in pickup trucks."
It's an old law but it keeps getting upheld each year! I wear mine but it's nice to know those times I'm cutting across a road or running 5 minutes away to get gas I'm 'safe'... from the law at least!

That makes me want to punch out a Georgian legislator.

I wear my belt on the road, but when I am driving on the ranch I see no need for it. Especially since sometimes I am constantly jumping in and out of the truck to open gates, etc.

I went to my dealer's body shop and asked them to retrieve the snap-in part (sans belt) from a totaled F-150. Two days later, I had it. When I am off-road, I simply snap it in.

I honestly don't need the government to tell me to wear a seat belt. I would love for them to spend their time on more meaningful things than this each year..

I have some older friends who just refuse to wear seat belts, period. Also, I sometimes drive small sections of river when I'm fly fishing. So I did the little routine that is the subject of this thread and I have never had to listen that that sound again! It only takes about two minutes to do and it's gone forever...
