(I posted this over in the body care forum, but that place appears to be a ghosttown. Perhaps some of my KR brethren can help?)

Somehow, and I, frankly, have no idea, I have a dent in the Ford emblem in my stearing wheel cover. Does anyone know if its safe to pop the cover off and try to pry the dent out? It seems like I could get the dent out but I'm a bit weary about taking off the stearing wheel cover. Has anyone done this? If so, what do I need to do.

I would tread VERY lightly in the area you are talking about. The air bag is directly underneath (if I understand what you're referring to) and you do not want to screw anything up with that. As far as I know the cover comes in an assembly with the airbag attached underneath. You might just want to talk to your dealer on this one and get his opinion. Maybe have HIM try to remove the Ford emblem and if he screws it up then its on him to fix it. Just my $.02 worth.

Ouch. That's a toughy.

Isn't that just a sticker?... I mean, I don't have one on my truck as it's a 2001 but, the ones that I've seen appear to be a simple sticker. Any thoughts?

No, RP, its not a sticker, its like a solid piece of plastic or aluminum. Enough to dent it. I'll try to snap a photo of it that y'all can see. IL6, thanks for that piece of advice. That's all I need to do is ignite the airbag. Its a very small deal, just frustrating because I have no idea out it happened.

 

Esquire I understand the "small deal" comment, but if you're like most of on here its those small things that bug ya the most. Sounds like that is the case. I feel for ya man, i would be the same way. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

I'm not sure what to tell you and, like IL6 mentioned, it's always the smallest of small items that drive me batty. (take for instance my rear power sliding window switch being mounted slightly crooked when I installed it the first time... ended up buying a dash piece to make it look right...).
