Greetings all.
Just signed up after spending the entire last month doing extensive research on these forums.

I wasn’t really in need to replace my trusty ole ’89, but I’ve always kept my eye out for something with more creature comforts and an extra cab.
This popped up a few weeks ago and I couldn’t pass it up, especially when I saw the color, and it had a manual tranny and manual transfer case. Sweet!
Not only that, but it's impossible to find an extra cab with a long box for sale around here.
Those that have them keep them forever.

At any rate, now we'll be ridin’ in comfort when we pull the boat out to the lake or take the dogs on a road trip to Yellowstone or Glacier.
Which means, I’ve also got a color matched A.R.E. topper on the way for the dogs.

Without further ado, here she is: (click thumbnails for fullsize)

This is what's getting replaced:
89 F150 XL Montana Centennial Edition
I think it knows it too.
Just changed the plugs/cap/rotor/oil and cleaned the air filter and it's running stronger than ever.
Going to give it a full detailing and then put it up on the local Craigslist page.
Kinda sad cause it's been such a great truck, but I'm hoping it'll end up in good hands.

I suppose I should explain WD40.1, just in case there's other multiple Ford vehicle afficionados on here.
We may have already talked to each other.
I'm WD40 on several other forums, but that name was already taken here.
(Though they never posted after signing up way back in 2004.)
I've been on Off-Road.com for my 85 Bronco, and Escape.com for my wife's 03 Escape.
By far the most active has been FocusFanatics.com where I was a moderator for 6 years and have 13,000+ posts.
But, I found myself spending a bit too much time there and work got crazy busy so had to give it up.
I'm also on SVTOA.com, though it's been a while.

Gees...I didn't mean to write a book, but hopefully I've introduced myself enough for the time being.
For further info, see my profile.
Looks like I better get a garage and image gallery set up as well.

Good but sad! those montana editions were good looking imo! That color is amazing on that pickup, never seen that on that era. Its normally that ugly sky blue, but that is beautiful! Welcome to the forum and keep around, we are very useful!

You definitely sound like a Ford man. Good to have you on this site.

Thanks for the welcome folks!

those montana editions were good looking imo!
Thanks, I had never seen one till I picked that truck up in 2007.
Since then, I've noticed a Ranger with the same trim/graphics package running around town.

You definitely sound like a Ford man
Yes, "the Ford" is very strong with us.
Since my first car in 1975...(1967 Cougar GT)

Thanks!
Though, I have to laugh at "early f150s" when referring to a 97.
That's actually pretty new to me.
Early would be more like something from the late 60's.

By the way, I picked up this rig in Great Falls at City Motors.

The topper should be here today or tomorrow.
I'm anxiously awaiting being able to see it and how well they matched the color.

I'm in the office all day today, but thanks for the offer for a meet.
Looks like a great day for a road trip too.

Shoot...topper won't be in till next week.
But, one good bit of news:
I managed to find a part number and availability for a full Bed Rug kit for my 8' bed.
(It's not listed on the Manufacturer's website)
I had already ordered the Bed Rug "cut to fit" mat for the drop in liner, but I really wanted the whole thing.
