Question Leather Care

My SuperCrew has almost 4,000 miles and I am about to start to clean and condition the leather seats. I went out, following F150Online.com advice, and bought some Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Good Post. I just purchased a 2003 F-150 Lariat 4x4 Super Crew and will be conditioning my leather seats also. Hopefully we will get some good ideas from the members.

Try Poorboy's Natural Look. Great for leather and all interior pieces. Easy to use, cleans and protects in one step. You can also use it on your tires.

go to WalMart and get....

the pack of terry cloth towels, the small ones, throw them in the wash with NO detergent to rinse the production soap out...thier located in the auto section right next to the shop towels...work good on leather and you just wash them and thier good for go again

Texford brings a good point to the table...

NO FABRIC SOFTENER!!

I've found that using towels with fabric softener causes streaks, smears, and generally they don't work nearly as well...

Just my two cents...

Also, when it comes to conditioning your leather. Try *NOT* using towels. Just spray it into your hand and hand massage it on and into the leather. Let's face it, the conditioner is meant for the leather on the seats... not to be trapped in some cotton terry towel.

I use this method on my KR and LOVE the results.

Unhappy leather

On my supercrew Lariat leather seats I used some stuff called Mr. Leather. I seams to clean and contidtion ok but it made the seats real slippery. I do not care for that. I know that after talking with some leather seat experts the key is to keep them clean and conditioned....just like an expensive pair of shoes.

Leather is skin. You have to keep it clean and hydrated. Hydration occurs when you condition the leather.

Think of it this way, if you went a month without washing your hands, what would they look like?
