Angry More on that seat noise (LUMBAR)

I just took my 01' Sport in for the second time.. the first time they took my seats apart and re-lubed the fittings and all of the components... that lasted one week.. now they tell me that there is a TSB about it and that they will have to replace the entire lumbar system... well thank God that it only has 25k miles on it...

There will be no recall, its not a safety issue.. just and annoyance according to the factory rep in Dallas.. nice to know.

I've got a on again off again squeak in my driver's seat back. The dealer I have mine at is replacing the complete seat back. Hope that fixes my problem, and thank God that when I took it in that it was squeaking like an old matterss. BTW, this is on a '01 Expy.

Both my seats still squeek like a ****! Never have time to take my truck in, since I know it won't be a quick fix. You have that TSB number by chance?????

mine squeeked like crazy. i thought it was in the lumbar sys. replaced seat back assmy. lubed every thing i could find. would come back in a few days. it sounded like it was high up in the seat back. i lubed the pivot points for the seat back. way down low. noise is gone and has been for about 7 months. and i would swear it was not comming from there. might try that. good luck.

I took mine to the dealer for it and 2,300 miles later... still no more squeak.

They replace a seat braket, some of the linkage and re-tightened the bolts in the seat to factory spec.

REPLACED

I had the same lumbar noise in both front seats in my '01 Supercrew. Started noticing it at about 12K.

Dealer replaced both lumbar assemblies at 15K when I took it in for routine checkup. No questions asked. Did it under warranty.

Seems to be working OK now at 16K. I just hope that it doesn't occur again at 30K.

New Lumbar mechanisms installed and no more squeeking. Done free under warranty, gave me a car to drive during the day while the truck was in. Also got new leather steering wheel. The leather wrapped wheel was worn so bad, it looked kinda black where hands had been.

Also getting a new driver's seat back cover. Have a tear at the bottom where the hinge is. Their idea to replace it, and my truck is 2000 miles out of waranty!

Fantastic Service dept. at my dealership!

Cool Seat Noise

Just had my seats serviced on my 01 'Screw.

No questions asked, they just sent it to the upholstery shop and replaced the lumbar mechanisms.

The fact they had the parts in stock and did it in 3 hours makes you wonder, huh ??

No more squeaks...

Cool Squeaky Seats

RANCH4x4ES -

I dug out my receipt from the dealer for the seat repair.

They did not list any of the part #'s or prices, so I'm not gonna' be much help. I guess because it was a warranty repair they don't bother breaking out the costs ?

Maybe you can ask the local dealer you work with who they use for upholstery work. A call to the shop direct could prove useful...

Good luck...

Is there really a TSB on this? I have had my squeaky seat for quite a while, but my GF is so tiny that it is hardly noticeable until my brother or someone else sits in it. I just noticed my driver's side seat is doing it now also.

I have a 2001 Super Cab XLT with the 60/40 with Lumbar...

I guess I will take the truck in and have them fix that damn squeek coming from both seats next week, maybe Monday if they are open?? Truck should turn 30,000 today, my wife drives it now so I never pay much attention to the squeek. I will update if they get it fixed.
