Dash Lighting possible to change?

I was just wondering is it possible to change the color of the dash lights? Stock trucks got green, but I was wondering if I could change mine to blue.

The stock bulbs are white, and the green tint is from the gauge overlay.

Unless you go with an Indigo blue overlay, changing the color is going to half @ss at best.

Say you try to put in a blue blub, and then the blue shines through a green overlay. Not going to turn out so well.

If you do a search here, you will find a few that changed out the guage overlay in the same range of MY rigs as yours.

Good Luck

hmm thanks for the info. I guess my whole dash is good green anyways lol. When I get gauges it will be NuImages whiteface with blue flames ( same on A/C panel ) & put a black bezel in, should look good.

Scully's right. You could buy a blue bulb and a white gauge overlay, that might work. Search F150 overlay on ebay, they have different colors

Bump...

Krypt- how tough is the job of changing out the stock dash overlay? What do you have to remove to get at the original overlay?

you will need some small torx bits though to get the cluster apart once you have it pulled out

I bought one similiar to that one on ebay, and i took off my whole dash and everything but than you have to remove the gague needles, and i called a local shop and it was 115 bucks to re-calibrate everything. Which sucks. Anybody know a cheaper way to get the gaguges calibrated?

when i changed mine on my truck, i let the truck sit and idle for about 5 minutes to get the temp needles up away from the cold area, then took a picture of where the needle sat...same thing with the tachometer. the speedometer, i really just had to guess at; i had my dad drive alongside me and then i just stuck the needle on while driving lol also take pics of your gas gauge to keep it accurate.
