Thumbs down windows sticking in cold weather

Having the XLT package I have power windows. Every cold morning, say below 15 degrees F both windows will not go down. Is the problem the motors or are the windows stuck against the fabric in the window tracks? Would spray silicone help?

I am not sure, but I have the XLT also with the power windows that I bought in August, I am studying abroad though this semester and it did not snow/get cold enough while was home to freeze the windows, so I never got a chance to find out if they stick like you say. I guess I will find out next winter. Just never wash your car when it is really terribly cold, because a guy I know did it and it got cold overnight and froze his doors shut, he had to wake me up b/c he had to go to work and I had to drive him. It was not fun, and I suggest you never make that mistake. Sorry that I cannot help, but just my two cents.

My windows would stick on my last 2000 f150 XLT reg. cab. It was moisture freezing the weather strip(bottom) to the glass. Never really did anything about it.....sorry wish I had a fix for you.

I have experienced the same problem since we have had a few days in the single digits. I just wait until the interior is warm before I attempt to roll down the windows. What you could try is using a small amount of Vaseline in the area that the glass "parks" in. It may be a bit messy, but it'll keep the window from being dislodged from it's track. Good luck!!

1: To smoke w/o stinking up or smoking out the cab.
2: To be able to see when there's snow/ice/fog on the window
3: F-150 owners are real men and don't give a rats a** how cold it is outside

P.S. He said below 15, not 15 below.
