No matter how many times you tell them or show them that it's even worse than their stock halogens, they don't get it. They immediately go into defensive mode and tell you that you are stupid and they don't care what you think. A guy yesterday on the other forum straight up said that he didn't care about science and that he could DEFINITELY see better with 10k PnP's than his stock halogens.

I've really gotten to the point where I don't even mind PnP's any more. I see at least 10 vehicles with them every morning. Most of the one's around me are in cars or SUVs that I sit above on the road. I just think the reasoning behind it is funny. I'd believe them more if they just said they like blue lights on the front of their truck. But 9.999 times out of ten, they swear they see better with them and that they blow halogens and lower kelvins out of the water.

I know I mean its physics, you cant dismiss that. All these people on there care about is themselves. They have said many occasions"I don't give a F about anyone else besides me, if I can see that's all that matter, I don't care if the other drivers cant see". Its so annoying. I'm like this is what's wrong with the world now a days. Its horrible.
PNP still annoy me, I guess mainly because I know its wrong and it can be done better. Like you I sit higher than most cars, so its not as bad. Just a pet peeve I guess.

I still hate PnPs (blinding aside) because they all look like cheap, hood cholo crap. Just from an aesthetics standpoint, they look disgusting. The headlights become this ugly blue blob. I literally judge every driver with PnPs and think they're all morons before I even meet them.

I too was there one day. That was also 5 years ago. The whole retro fit thing was unheard of to me. But I also never had the stupid blue lights. But I must say, I was probably one of the worst ones out there. 3 sets, heads, fogs, and 6" driving lights behind the grille that I modded to accept the bulbs. I hardly ever turned on the fogs or driving lights save for lonely highways at nights. But I knew it wasn't right.

How times have changed. For someone who has run those stupid pnp's to a set of retro'd lights, the difference is night and day. It's way nicer having the light distributed to where it needs to be. And besides, retro'd lights just look so much better.

I can certainly appreciate someone that realizes that it is wrong and that a projector retrofit is much better. What really gets me is when you show someone pictures of a well-done projector retrofit, and they still claim that it isn't any better than a PnP setup. They also argue that their 10k HIDs have better output than other setups and even their old halogens. THAT is what I find hilarious. Once again, they are arguing with science. Like projector retrofits (and even OEM applications) are some kind of conspiracy theory or something. PnPers are some of the most defensive people I've ever talked to.

il_duce, I know what you mean. I recently convinced, with evidence, my younger brother(has an 07 f150 hd) that projectors are better. He bought his truck with, and still has installed the PnP's.

Side by side, with low beams on, my fx-r's have a better pattern, reach farther and wider, than his stock housings. Even with his 8k(ish) set up. I really should get comparison pictures.

Now he's going to buy my set of retro's for the price of another retro fit. There was a reason I stuck with all flat black on this set. Opens the door for another set for me. I hope to go a bit more extravagant with the next set.

But I'm going to get some comparison pics. Hopefully even tonight.

Time to go with a full OEM setup like I made. Might I suggest matsush*ta ballasts and Osram CBIs or Osram Nightbreakers unlimited. Plus an OEM projector like a RX350, TL, LS460. Yada yada. Makes for an ultimate retrofit.

Being fairly new to the whole retrofitting, are those projectors considered top of the line? How much better do they perform than the fx-r's? I understand the bulbs and ballasts are better.

Those are considered top of the line, yes. Rx350s are wider then the fx-r with a better high beam. TLs will have a better high beam, but a big bodied projector. And the LSs are king of retroland but huge.
