HID Stupidity
Not to argue your point but you can do a retro for about $200-$300. My last retro was about $250 after the group buy discount. Then again you have to do these yourself not have someone do it.
I do understand the point of money tho. My next retro will run me around $700 doing it myself :o . So I have to save up, but in the mean time I'm sticking halogens.

Pockets, I understand that not everyone can afford doing a proper retrofit or paying someone to do it. But you can't tell me that some of those pictures above aren't absolutely ridiculous. I am more making fun of the people running 10,000k HIDs and bragging about how much brighter they are. Blue HIDs aren't even close to as bright as stock halogens. 90% of these people running HIDs would be better off keeping their halogens. Even worse, there are people on there saying that they know it's wrong, that it blinds people on the road, and that they don't care as long as they can see good. I just feel that if it can't be done right, just stick with the halogens and upgrade to silverstars or ultras from sylvania. To each their own, but I have been on the other side of the road of some PNPers and it is not fun trying to stay in my lane with that light in my face.
I'm a member over there too, and have only logged in really once since March. The two forums are SO different
I can't keep up with them.
I still want to know which mod it was, so maybe I'll check it out.

Buttt I can't see a damn thing at night haha might as well have them off! That's totally fine as I don't ride at night unless I get stuck too dangerous with people out there. They work awesome on high beam in the day as the blue really grabs peoples attention when it's in their mirror, more so than white I'd imagine, and boy do they light up those street signs haha

I might try and do it one day but it really seems like a PITA to get good headlights that won't craze and to crack those open you need the jaws of life (which I have access to
) oh and time, something all to minimal in my life
Ahh, it makes sense now. I just now read the first page of the thread. He's the one that started the thread and he's a PNPer himself. It's Lenn by the way.
BTW, this is their only HID sticky over there and all of the quotes have come from there.

Always loved how people with pnps say that because they don't get flashed that it means their lights aren't obnoxiously bright, when in reality most people just get tired of flashing them all the time haha. In my area probably about 1 out of every 7-10 cars has a pnp kit in it, but since they believe that they need to get flashed to understand their lights are bad, I make sure they're well aware of how annoying it is driving with them in oncoming traffic.

^^ This.
I went to Jacksonville once to let my sister borrow my truck so she could move. It extended into the night and she accidentally hit the high beams. She drove it for about 4 hours all through downtown Jax and up/down I-295 without getting flashed once. And believe me, my lights HURT. Getting flashed isn't a measure of glare, but rather a measure of "why bother"

Rap, I got a Q thats pickin at my brain..... Why do your lights seem to have a defined "step" from left to right? What is it about HID's that causes this? As a bodyman, it would drive me to drink if I didn't try to align those darn thins to line up on that garage door......
I have factory HID's on my 13 and mine has the step from side to side too. I would imagine you could adjust one side up or down and possibly eliminate the step but I haven't tried it yet.
^To all you guys wondering about the "step" in the cutoff, it's there for a reason. There is LHD and RHD as you may see on TRS's website. That's left hand drive and right hand drive. You pick depending on which side of the road you drive on in your country.

The step in the cutoff keeps light out of incoming traffic's face and lights up signs better on your side of the road. You can't get rid of it unless you modify the cutoff shield, but that's unadvisable.
Hope that helps!
