Hello all,

It has been awhile since I posted here. I have had my work cut out for me on the pro-gun front lines. I won't go into details.

Anyway, I am back and find myself changing out lights on my 2008 before I planned too.

A little background. I had sanded and tinted my tails and 3rd brake light twice and they faded both times. No damage to the lights, just fading. Tired of painting them.

My aftermarket headlights a set of these have begun peeling on the outside of the lenses and they are clouded where they have peeled.

I am replacing the heads with Harley headlights, got them in today.

This is the tail light replacement and I was wondering if anyone had these before I put them in. I already have a LED flasher installed for the front LED turn signals so I don't foresee a problem with them.

Also, I have this as the 3rd brake light. Also, LED.

Anyone have these tails ro 3rd brake light? I searched and am still searching but cannot find them anywhere on here. If you have them, any regrets?

With anything chinese made, the quality department sure is lacking. There are several members on here with the same style lights, with sets of LEDs that are out due to a cold solder joint. They may last 5 years, they may last 5 weeks. Its a gamble with things mass produced and no QC. If you want to roll the dice, go for it.

 

Good choice on head lights i love the Harley heads. But exactly raptor said on the tails.. Have some one professional do your tails. My buddy did mine ( he does it professionally) and they turned out great! I would suggest that over LED.

 

Yeah that kinda confirms my initial thoughts on these tails. I will run them while I have my tails done professionally. There used to be a guy here who tinted them and cleared them with auto finish quality paints. Is he still around? I have no clue what his name was.

It looks the same as the one you posted. They probably come from the same factory. I'm extremely happy with it though. BTW, only the brake portion is LED. You reuse your existing cargo light bulbs, which could be switched to LEDs but aren't included in the brake light.

 

Thank you yes it looks identical. I am sure the same China factory made both. lol I still have not installed them. My appliances keep breaking and now my wife has me painting the bathrooms. I think its a conspiracy.

 

If you haven't changed your front lights, I would suggest HELLA Ford F-150 Blackout Carbon Fiber Look Headlamp Kit. They will run half the price of the ones that you posted. Here's what they look like installed...

I had a set of those on it when I rear ended a Tahoe back in April of 2010. On the way home from picking it up from the shop I got hit 50 feet from my house on the right side and it took out the other side. 12k dollars in damage to it within 30 days. I kind of took it as an omen of bad luck.

Anywho, I got the Harley headlights in and love them. I have to say the tail lights suck, big time. The 3rd brake isn't much better but it looks good.

In removing my old tail lights I found them to be cracked and broken in places so I am looking for professionally tinted stock tails now.

 

I bit the bullet and bought a new set of Harley tails and a new OEM 3rd brake light. This China made crap sucks.
