Question Tailgate light bar on older truck

Is it possible to install a tailgate light bar on a 1988 f150? Never seen it. Any input would be good!

You would most likely have to hard wire it to the tail lights.

Yes, it is possible. If the truck has a 4-pin trailer plug then all you will have to wire is the reverse lights. If it doesn't have the plug, then hard wiring it is pretty simple.

I wouldn't do it. They don't look good on any truck and half those I see on the road have lights out.

My Plasmaglow is straight as an arrow, matches my LED tails, and is still at full brightness!

Mines doing pretty good now as well although I have been through 3 and now a section of reverse is out

But they will keep sending them so I will keep putting them on!

As long as the red lights are not out it looks great

As for the OP question you should have no problem if there is a 4 pin very easy to install and like others said just hook up to your reverse light.
