another retrofit question

i've tried researching to find what i needed, and while it seems that there's lots of similar threads, nothing gave me a for sure answer. i have a 2011 f150 that i want to do a retrofit to. i want to start with the fogs because this is my first retrofit and i'd like to get my hands wet a little before jumping into anything too big. i'd like to avoid tons of cutting and fitting, so as 'plug n play' as possible. i know what shrouds i want, but what projectors should i go with for the fogs? from what i've seen (i think) that i should go with morimoto mini or blazer projectors? or what type would you guys suggest?

I'd go with Matchbox first, then the Fusion projectors second, Mini H1 third, and I wouldn't even think about the Blazers

Fogs are the wrong place to start if you want to avoid lots of cutting. I would begin with the headlights and a MiniH1 kit, much easier with all that space then trying to stuff projectors in the little foglamps.

I think he means that he wants to just start on the fogs because you can drive around without them while he is learning what to do for the headlights.

I would assume there is a lot more fabrication needed on the fogs because of the brackets holding them right.

it looked like with small enough projectors that that would have been a good starting point. but as it turns out, TRS is out of their matchbox projectors so i'm going to be starting with the headlights anyways. i ordered an extra set so i can work on those and take my time since i have 2 other projects going on too.

maybe it's better this way too if i decide to stick projectors in the fogs. i read it's kinda pointless, so i may just stick with the headlights. we'll see how it goes tho. thanks for the advice

I have FX-R in my heads, and matchbox in my fogs and I like them.

awesome thanks for the heads up. i'll start with the headlights still since the fogs will be a little trickier...but i'll get to them afterwards. got my new headlights in, so just gotta order the projectors and i can get started on them. can't wait to get rid of the ugly halogens

I have FX-R projectors in my heads and just finished matchbox projectors in my fogs. I had my heads done by another company mentioned here on the site as I was a bit nervous about messing with my headlights...they turned out awesome. I did my fogs myself and it was actually quite easy. only took 1 day.

i originally wanted a fairly easy install to do for my first one....but quickly ditched that idea when i read how much nicer the FX-R projectors are. it's been a long ongoing project due to my weird work schedule. new headlights are apart, the corners have been tinted, the chrome has been stripped from the bowl and ready to paint, and the holes have been drilled to mount the projector. after i paint i should be able to mount them and align them and then get to finishing them up.

kinda just doing things as i get there. trying to figure a good way to be able to align them with the front lens off. i think i got an idea, but i'll see how it goes when i get to it. and i'm glad to hear the fogs were easy lol. wasn't quite looking forward to them after this big project, but i definitely want the matching gatling gun shrouds/halos
