Hooking up this 3rd Brake Light??
Hooking up this 3rd Brake Light??
I just got my tail lights and third brake light in...the tail lights hook up easily, but not sure how the third brake light hooks up...it looks like I will need to hard wire. I have an 04 F150 FX4...here is the picture of the connection:
Sorry the pictures aren't very good.

That is what I plan on doing, however how would I go about doing that, as there are three different leads going to each bulb on the stock light, while there is only one lead that powers everything on this aftermarket light. The main lead on the stock light only has two wires, while this aftermarket one as you can see in the picture has 3 (blue, red, and black I believe)...so what would I hook into?
Yes LED Cargo Lamps, apparently the one connection you see in the picture powers the brake LED and the two cargo lamps...but I dunno if I am supposed to tap into just one of the original cargo lamps and then the main brake light or what...
You may need to pull the back trim piece off inside to get access to the connector.......
Or is it like this.....

No the connector won't plug into the stock harness like in that video...guess I will have to see about pulling off the trim piece...the guy on ebay said I may have to just hard wire it though...
My recon light had the same plug the lights are on a separate harness that is secured under the headliner. you un plug the stock light harness and the new 3rd brake light plugs directly into that

As stated before.....this connection is in the back of the cab above the headliner.....
You are correct I hooked it up it was under the headliner as you stated. got everything hooked up. I will post some photos of my new truck all done tomorrow in the 04-08 section if anyone cares to see how it turned out.
