I didnt want the crappy hi beam halogen hooked up. If I could go back i wouldve retrofitted my factor lights instead of buying the chinese crap. If u got it from TRS tell them u want harness for ur truck for hid's only.
Thank you for posting your experience, I knew you'd be able to help

Anyone have any issues with a 55 WATT system burning their factory socket. I had the Morimoto wire harness with morimoto XB55 watt ballasts and Osram CBI D2S bulbs. I had to downgrade to XB35 WATT Ballasts due to this issue. All products from TRS.

from what i've heard 55w is ok for short term use 30> minutes. but longer burn times get things too hot

But being that the factory harness is just a trigger for the relay the wattage shouldn't have anything to do with the burning issue.

unless its too close to the headlight itself?

Could also be a cheap connector that had loose pins that cause heat to jump tiny gaps?

Very true. I'm leaning more towards a bad connection some where.
