Air not working correctly

I just replace my blower motor resistor for the second this year I believe . This time the resistor didn’t fix the problem completely. The ac never worked properly after I replaced the resistor the first time. Well it worked for a bout two weeks befor it started randomly shutting off. I would have to either wait for it to come back on or just keep turning it off then back on. Sometimes it would blow for the remainder of the drive others it would cut of within seconds. About a week ago now I noticed a burning smell followed by the ac shutting off and not coming back on. So I got on Amazon bought the ford part this time thinking that I just got a pos off brand resistor the first time, put it in yesterday and now the blower blows only on high, the air isn’t cool and you can’t change it to feet or defrost or anything. Any suggestions on what it might be now?

Usually, when the blower only works on high its because the resistor has burned out. Is the compressor running? Is the high pressure refrigerant line hot and the low pressure cold?

Do you have the manual or the automatic climate control system? You really need to provide full and complete descriptions since, as was already noted, we cannot see your truck through the internet.

It’s the automatic dual zone system. Cooled seats work fine and are cold. I’m new to the forum and don’t have a lot of experience so sorry for leaving off the details I appreciate the help! It feel like it’s just blowing air from the outside and not conditioning it.

The compressor isn’t running and both lines are average temp. Not hot or cold.

Well, now you have two problems: The blower won't work right and the compressor isn't running.

These advanced systems aren't as simple as the ones of days past. It's all computer-controlled and, if you don't have the required diagnostic equipment, service information, and background, it's pretty tough to do much more than guess as to what the problem might be.

As far as the lack of cooling, I "guess" the refrigerant might be low, the clutch gap may be excessive, the relay isn't working, there's a bad sensor, the computer isn't working right, or there's something else that's telling the computer to disable the system.

As for the high speed only issue, I "guess" the blower speed module or the DATC module is bad.

Since I don't know what diagnostic equipment you have, whether or not you have the service information or what you troubleshooting background might be, I guess that's about all I can offer.

Thanks! Check engine light came on on my what Home and now the o2 sensor is bad. Sensor 1 bank 1. I’m beginning to think I just need trade the truck in I was already saving up money to have the spark plugs replaced. I love the truck and it only has 135000 on it but I’m always have to fix something. I don’t have a lot of equipment so I’m planning to just Javier it diagnosed by a local ac shop and maybe I can fix it my self if not oh well. I appreciate all the help!

I did notice today that it’s definitely blowing the outside air. We had some rain showers come thru today and as I drove thru them and the outside temp dropped the inside also went down. I fell like maybe it’s something electronic is there any kind of test I can do?

The oxygen sensor code may not be caused by the sensor. Something like a vacuum leak could cause a lean code. Post the exact code.

If it's running rough, the PCM may be preventing the compressor from running.

I didn’t notice it running rough last night that was the weird thing. The only time it’s acts up is when I really get on the gas. It will lose all power and shakes real bad for a few seconds. It has throw a code that said Clynder 7 was fouling.
