AC Clutch Separated?

I think my ac clutch has separated, as it feels loose and is rattling. would that mean i lost my bolt and spacers. pulley seems fine, ac actually still kicks in when i select it. does the clutch need replacing or just bolt space it back on? and is it a doable job (i.e., not remove any freon)?

https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...+bearings.htmlFinally got my hub, removed old easy enough, looks like some bearings missing? is there a dust cap? can the bearing be replaced by itself? I'll post a few pics....

Remove the serpentine belt and give the pulley a test spin and check it. Most likely, it will need to be replaced which means you also need a pulley (it comes with the bearing in it).

Use Motorcraft parts. The hub and pulley will run about $100 if you order them through RockAuto.

Thanks, visually bearings look out of line, missing a few (?), so have assumed bearing replace or whole pulley. Still working on getting the belt off, probably need that tool, then need to find a snap ring tool.

I prefer to stick with Motorcraft parts, got the hub from Amazon, but have used RockAuto before as well.

Now have to wait for the wife's car to get home...

Finally got the pulley off, gear puller was tight but easy. Plastic type junk around/behind the bearing, assume it is part of cover? Is there only supposed to be 11 bearings on front and 11 in back row? Don’t feel any rough edges on coil or pulley shaft. Replacement pulley arrives this week, shoulda got express shipping, but didn’t. Only had one spacer so hope new stuff fits ok, isn’t it just a washer? Updated pictures on https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...+bearings.html

All back in, no problems, new motorcraft parts fit perfectly, started it up, smooth sounding, watched the clutch switch properly. Now maybe look into the frequent on/off switching issue, but I see there’s other threads out on that…
