A/C temp issues
A/C temp issues
I tried using the search to see if this is a particular problem with this model of the F150 (04-08) but I couldn't find it in case this is a repost.
Well, the problem is that I've only had the truck since Jan of this year, I bought it used with 9k miles on it and didn't need to use the A/C until last month. The problem is that even with the A/C on and set to recirculate, it sometimes feels like its only blowing vented air and not cooled.
In the mornings, with it being in the low 80s and muggy, I run the A/C to keep the cab from feeling like *** and I normally set it to the temp in the picture below. It gets cool and then it starts to feel like its only blowing uncooled vented air until I drop the temp down more and it starts blowing cold again, rince repeat.

The following picture is where I had to finally set it to get it to stay cool, and even then it starts to go back to "vented" air. I'm not sure why its doing this. Has anyone else experienced this?

Actually what it could be is your truck has a sensor that tells it how cold it is inside of the cab. Once it gets to the cold level that you have selected say 75*, it cannot continue to blow cold air as the temp would drop below 75* in cab. So it blows uncooled air in to keep the temp as close to the selected temp as possible with it randomly blowing cool air to maintain temp.
On my truck with a digital AC control if I set it to a desired temp it will blow cold until the cab gets to that temp. Then it actually turns the blower motor speed down to try to maintain that temp and it stops super blowing cold air (again as the temp would drop below my selected degree) and just blows the air around trying to maintain that temp.
Also is that Nirvana ur listening too?

To answer your question, thats the Lithium station on Sirius/XM, it plays Grunge/Alternative/Garage from the 90s.

i believe that the sensor he is talking about is only on the Electronic temp controlled trucks. i had an 06 xlt with the three ***** like that and it would never vary on the temp that's blowing out of the vents. the sensor is not there...on my 06 fx4 with luxury package that has the electronic temp control, the sensor is there that samples the air temp and determines what to do with it...but only does it on "auto"
something is up with your system because it shouldn't vary on air temp unless you turn the dial.

yeah true....i was hoping that my first 06 had some type of temp modulation besides the middle **** but didnt...actually the ac in that one was terrible and never cooled the truck down. same with my current 06 fx4...had to install efans and the ball valve to block off hot coolant flow into the heater core...now the ac is as cold as it should be when its 100+ outside
wow thats warm a properly functioning ac should blow between 28-40 degrees maxed out.
kind of what i was thinking, its definately colder than what it was.
i have the digitally controlled ac settings that only go down to 60 at the lowest,so i guess thats all the colder its going to blow?
