No AC in Park
Mine does it too. If I drive a short distance, even just a mile, and park it works fine. But, when I first start it and turn it on it blows hot.
I took it in to the dealership when it ofrst happened summer 08 and they changed the fan clutch. It seamed to be better but it still does it.

05 here does it also. If you want air you gotta keep movin. Noticed the compressor cycles on and off while parked. Wonder if it does at speed? Been thinkin bout hookin up a switch to keep the compressor goin while parked but don't know if this would damage the pump.
You could add an efan to the condenser coil, that would make the most difference.

If high temps make the compressor stop cycling completely, but otherwise work at lower temperatures, it is probably overcharged with freon. That would be the high pressure switch stopping it from running.
Freon expands or contracts at a very high rate with temperature changes. You can measure the pressure of a drum of freon at, let's say 70 degrees. It may say there is 200Hg of pressure in the container. But then measure the same drum at 100 degrease, and it may have 300Hg of pressure. That is what makes freon work as a good refrigerant is the expansion and contraction of the gases.

I have a 05 fx4 that seems to be not so great with the AC right after start up sitting in the sun. It actually feels like its blowing hot air until i start moving then it gets cool. Are yall saying that this is normal? My 4x4 also doesnt come on...I know there is a fuse for 4x4 noid and the ac compressor. I havent had a chance to pull it and see if its blown yet but if it was the ac would never cool off right? I am also going to check the freon....but it just doesnt seem right thats its hot until you start moving. I have a 06 mustang it does not have this issue.
Yep mine does the same thing, if its REALLY hot out, 95+ it will not cool until you put it in drive. My 4x4 works fine though. Because my AC is fine otherwise I just consider it normal.
