Floor vent y pipe. DELETE?

I am laying some sound deadener down on the floor of my truck, and ive pulled the carpet up, and i noticed that there is a fancy tubing system that come out of the center of the dash, that blows air out under my seats. Other then no having a floor panel vents on the floor, for the back seat, are there any other side effects to removing this duct work?

Also should i still let it blow out, and creat a vent through the carpet, or should i make some kind of cover that will seal this off, and completely delete it?

I live in Dallas Tx, so we have very very mild winters, so am i really loosing out on alot?

Only issue I see with removing it is your carpet might not lay flat.

As for what to do with the opening - If it's the same as the newer trucks (shares the same space with the floor vents), blocking it off should be fine.

yea

thats about my thought, and on my truck, the floor vents are tucked under the dash, blowing down on the floor over feet, and this blows out of the center at the bottom of the dash. I was thinking about the carpet not laying completley flat against it, if thats the case, ill just beef up the sound deadener there a little bit.

I ended up just putting it back in, it did look too lumpy without it.

How did your sound deadener work? Did you cover the back wall & floors? Any in the doors? I would like to tone mine down a bit.

i dont know yet really, i drove it for like one minute at 1am to charge battery, and test out the subs. I still dont have any seats in it and what not.

I put one layer in all 4 doors, double layer on back wall, double layer on back seat floor, and one layer on front half of the floor. One i get everything back together today, ill go drive it a bit, then drive to work, and ill get a better judge of how it all sounds

this is the stuff i used, pretty easy to work with, also did my friends camaro while he was helping me

I ended up over estimating how much i was going to use, but ive got another friend that he was here helping and he is probably interested in some of the left overs.

really does work. if i still had stock exaust, i would have to strugle to hear it at any rpm.

I managed to stop bumping for a minute to hear how quiet the truck is, lets just say im very impressed.

now ive just got to track down a million different rattles in my truck, when the bass hits
