DNX8120 and Factory Sub?

Guys,

What's going to happen with my Factory Sub once the DNX goes in? Will the connections power the subwoofer? Or do I have to get rid of the sub along with the oem headunit?

Thanks!

With use of the Metra 70-5521 harness you'll be happy to find out that you will have full control over your factory sub's volume and frequency. The way the original factory setup worked is that your subwoofer's volume went up with the entire volume of the system. Now you'll even be able to turn the sub off if you like.

KC:

Good, politically correct answer! I really don't want to keep the oem sub.. in the near future I will replace it out for something with a bit more... power.

In the meantime, I need some bass augmenting the speakers.. so I opted to keep the oem setup back there for now.

Thanks for the part number. Can I get that part though you?

Do you happen to sell a sub harness from the HU to the sub for the stock audiophile?

Just looked on ebay. I don't think I've ever seen any of the Saleen trucks hit Kansas City before. Lots of Roush and other versions. The 70-5521 harness will be the same since the radio is the same. This is where all the harnesses plug at.

Thanks KC, I am a little bit confused now because I now have an 08 F150 which didnt come with the audiophile stereo and have taken the stereo and speakers out of my 05 which had the audiophile system. Now I plugged the connectors into the HU and had to pull the Sub plug from the little storage blankoff on the harness, but what really is bothering me is that I know where the connector should be to plug into the Sub/amp unit but I for the life of me cannot find one. I find it kind of strainge that Ford would put the connector there for the head unit but wouldnt terminate it with another plug for the sub/amp unit. Does anyone know anything about this on the 08's and if they may have stashed the sub plug somewhere else? I know my 05 has two shielded wires running down the driver side under the plastic step and they go right to the connector for the sub, but on the 08 the shielded wires run down the same way but when it gets past the driver seat it runs behid both front seats to the other side and back up front under the passenger front plastic step and after it goes up inside the dash is where I lose it. I have been under the carpet in the whole back seat area on both sides of the truck and cannot find it. Any ideas from you knowledgable folks???
Sorry, I am not trying to hijack thread, but I have looked and searched all over here with no help and this seems to be the closest current threads conccerning sub and you all sound pretty knowledgable... thanks
