The "formula" for a 12-second Harley model varies a bit from the Lightning, but in realistic terms primarily it's an issue of needing more power to get the same kind of ET's, obviously, due to the increased weight of the '02 Harley. The '02 Harleys make less power stock compared to the Lightning obviously, and not only do they make less boost, but they also have a more restrictive exhaust setup as well as another 500-600 lbs. of weight. Where many Lightnings can crack into the high 12's with a Superchip, intake kit & a set of slicks, the Harley needs significantly more to do this.

Virtually all the same Lightning parts work on the HD, the upper pulleys gain more boost on the '02 HD model of course due to it's larger blower pulley stock.

We have a lot of these trucks running around with our packages on them, using 4-6 lb. lower pulleys, and some using that in addition to a blower (upper) pulley, as well as throttle bodies, electric fans, intakes, long-tube headers, high-flo cats, proper tuning & attention paid to the suspension when needed.

These HD's generally tend to run about 14.4-14.7 in heat, 90 degree temps. So the issue here is to drop about 1.4 - 1.7 seconds off their ET's to be able to break into the 12's, and in Summer heat it takes signifcantly more modification to get into the 12's compared to what's need to do that in 50 degree Fall temps, obviously. That's a real key word here, "heat," as these computer controlled Lightning motors are extremely sensitive to heat.

Anyone wanting to improve the performance of their supercharged Harley can give us a call & we'll be happy to map out a plan of mods that will get the performance of your supercharged Harley where you want it to be.

i ran my 02hd a couple of sundays ago it ran 13.75 at 99.94
w/a 2.01 60 ft.
weather conditions were about 90 degrees and lot of humidity
my truck made 420rwhp anf 525 rwtq the day before .
i had only about 20-30 minutes of cooldown.

my mods are:4lb lower,2lb lightning upper,custom tuned
diablo chip and k&n filter off a cobra.

i hope to put the electric fan and w/pump on next weekend and
maybe a trans mod.

to the best of my knowledge a long cooldown is worth about
2-3 tenths and 2-3 mph.

by the way i weighed my truck also it was 5200lbs with no driver.

Electric fan install

Have you done the electric fan install yet - and did you encounter any problems (electrical) with it?

Johnny--That's great news! I have a feeling a lot more HD-specific parts will be available soon... BTW--You're gonna love the truck.
