Cobra, What size lower pulley do you have? Do you know how much boost you are making?

Fuel??

cobrasvt1 - Thanks for the info. Are you running 93 octane fuel? Or race fuel?

My truck seems like it could use more stall on the torque converter during launch. What's your opinion on this with the bigger pulley setup? What RPM are you launching at? Is traction an issue? Thanks.

traction

when u do the work u don't want to have a higher stall unless u are runing slicks , i run 93 or 94 octane and street tires and launch at like 1100 and roll into the throttle traction is a bit tricky at times if u leave 100 rpms to much the thing spins like crazy for instance on the same day i wnet 13.2 with a 1.9 60ft i also went 13.6 at 104.72 with a 2.36 60 ft once the tires spin it kills the run if u have any questions email me at cobrasvt1@AOL.COM ILL BE GOIN TO THE TRACK TONIGHT TO SEE IF I CAN GO FASTER IF U WANT TAKE OUT THE SPARE , THE BED MATT AND THE BED EXTENDER, I RUN WITH THE SPARE AND MATT IN BUT I TAKE OUT THE BED EXTENDER , ITS HARDER FOR ME TO HOOK WHEN I TAKE THE MATT OUT BELIEVE IT OR NOT THAT THING IS HEAVY

Trade Offs

cobrasvt1 - Yeah, I sort of figured that with more boost the TC stall issue might be a trade off with traction. That's interesting about the mat / weight in the bed. Less weight makes for better acceleration, BUT less traction during launch.

With your estimated ~6 - 7 psi boost increase over stock, you must be getting close the limits of pump gas. I was able to run 16psi boost on a turbo vehicle with 93 octane fuel, but that was on the edge of activating the knock sensor. Does the HD motor have a detonation sensor?

Thanks for you info. Good luck getting into the 12's.

theres no knock sensor in the hd but as long as u don't run to much timing u should be alright with ore boost
