i would more than guess that the kit they hit you with will include a pully swap and there is a sticker over stock pulley that voids warranty once it is damaged...

if a warranty is to be voided....
http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1203

1000 less at retail...they can be had for less...the graph shows rwhp not at the crank like ford.....
dont get me wrong....the truck is bad a$$ and nice option...but enjoy it for a while before you start to void the warranty

The kit consist of a pulley for 8-10 psi, belt, tuner, new intake kit, and a mass air flow sensor. All for the price of $1,895.00. It will gain about 80 horsepower and 100 ft/lbs of torque and will get rid of the torque limiter and the speed govenor. He promised I would be able to burn the tires off all the way through 1st.

Good thing I know people that can make me a new sticker. The warranty is only 3 year 36K miles anyways. You dont get the full powertrain warranty with the Saleen package.

Why couldnt you just change the lower pulley? Isnt that what the roush and wipple kits do? Ive seen on here somewhere that the smaller pulley on the charger instead of a different crank pulley will promote slippage. Is this wrong?

Isnt the Saleen running of the stock serpentine system and changing the lower would change all of the accesories operating speeds?

I think the Roush is the only system using a dedicated serpentine (like the lightning and 02-03 harley) and front drive that allows for a lower pulley change with no effect to the accesories.

You could be and probably are right about the belt system.

we are running a 2.9 upper and 10% larger crank pulley on our Saleen S331. Now we have run every pulley combo we offer and there is absolutley no effect on the accessorie operating speeds. The Roush system is cool because you can throw a lightning crank pulley on it and boost it up that way.

Now our pulleys look just like stock and use the same plastic cover. It pops right off and you cant tell it has been removed unless you mangle it removing it, just be gentle and it will come right off.

Our upgrade kit really does work well we did a 07 HD that i had scheduled on the dyno this weekend and it picked up 80 RWHP and 83 TQ dead on. That was with the 3.2 pulley with the 3.0 it will be about another 10 HP and 25 ft lbs!!!

We also have an electric fan kit out for them which adds 15 RWHP and we are workign on a full exhaust system, heat exchanger upgrade, and traction bars!!!

i would guess that most would not get the $6500 option only to void it when they could get it for about 2 grand less and get a whipple...but i guess thats just my impression
I can tell you I have a 07 HD F-150 AWD and with a brand new Whipple from Ford FRP on it and it barley will get out of its own way. Not even a chirp of the tires and when it hits 99 MPH it has the throttle stop.

Worst buyers remorse I have ever had.

I have been watching the Trilogy build up of the new twin screw for the F-150 and it is fantastic and flat out flys......to bad I can not melt my whipple and use the alum. to make a trilogy..........

Talking

Ok I recant my position.... Whipple great.... programmer sucks.

Today Lidio at Alternative dropped off our now a ground pounding beast with a Perfect tune. It rocks and shift and runs like a raped ape. he used a SCT and did a drive tune all week verses a dyno tune.

You would not beleive the difference unless you drove it.

F-150 AWD Harley Screw with Whipple and Alternative Tune makes for a happy and quick and great looking truck.

F150 Saleen HD, 2007

Saleen originally told me that I need to put more miles on it for the blower to start releasing its full potential. I now have 900 miles on it. I have a stop sign right before my house and I punch the throttle down every night on the way home from work but I still hasnt even started to squeak the tires. I was hoping that some one on this site might also have one a could tell me how theirs is running. I will try calling that company you recommend in New Jersey. As of right now, when ever some one rides in the truck and I punch the throttle they ask "was that wide open?" Its embarrising.
I've had my Saleen HD 2007 for about 10 days now and it's not as fast as I expected. Would LOVE to get this tuned to peel the tires some from a stop. It's quick, but not 450HP quick. The only thing is I don't want to void the warranty. I spoke to the local ford guys and they said any tuning would need to be done by Saleen, and would likely mean being without my truck for 10 days because they ship the part (a chip I think, I don't know the details) to California. If anybody out there has done some tuning to this and been successful let me know.

Thanks!

Well, got hold of my 2007 Harley Davidson Saleen truck after waiting an age for it to be shipped over here to the Uk.

Put about 150 miles on it and today the block let go. Ive got a hole the size of a golf ball on the drivers side rear of the block.!!!!

Had just turned into a side turning in the city so was not underload or gunning it when there was a bad vibration and then a loud knock followed by a large oilsmoke cloud behind me. The engine died and I coasted to the kerb.........there she lay until a recovery truck collected her.

Got to wait until 2nd Jan now as everywhere is shut for the holidays...Gutted...

So....so far not impressed with the Saleen Harley truck....

i would get back with jdm and see what they have to offer for thier work they have done, there might be a reason that 6lbs of boost was done by the factory and not 9 or 10 that jdm is doing on pulley swaps

hope it all works out in the end and i hope the end is near and not to far off in time
