Do drop shakles effect ride quality?
No change in ride - handles a little better - but definately needs a sway bar in the rear.
Ask for Mark @ www.lightningforceperformance.com - hes got the best price i've seen so far.

Good, then it's not just me on the sway bar issue. The truck gets a little scary when driving it fast and hitting bumps while in a curve. Mine was waving like an American flag. Very top heavy.
Just wondering, becuase my truck rides way to good... Also wheres the cheapest place to get them?
To answer from my recent experiences with places to get them and least expensive here is the best I found:
2" rear shackles for 29.99 through stylin concepts. With shipping it comes to around 39 and the brand is DJM. They have urethane bushings which improves the ride quality oppossed to other materials used in the same application.
When it comes to ride quality I am not sure I have not installed mine yet.

I know rob02lightning has the djm shackles. most guys go with the belltechs though. not sure why, but i just went with the majority and got a set of belltechs also when i did mine. i didn't notice any difference in ride quality, but it looks a heck of alot better now
I put the BellTechs on mine as well. I was lucky enough to buy them from somone off the forum for $25 including shipping.
I did not really notice any difference in ride. The look is what I was going for anyway. I agree a sway bar would improve handling.

thats a topic that hasn't been brought up in a while. i know back when the 02's 1st came out, it was a pretty big topic again, so maybe do a search in the HD forum for swaybars, and see what you come up with. i thihnk alot of guys went with helwig? or hotchkiss?
does anybody know if there is a how-to on installing one?

I guess it's all on opinions. I did Belltech 2"/2" plus another 2" in the back removing a leaf. I did add the shorter BellTechs Nitro Active shocks all around. My truck rides just like it did stock but low
Swaybar? Tell me where they have those for front and back. That's definitely desired and needed

Hellwig makes a sway bar for us. I have the part # at work, I'll post it next time.
There is sway bar for stock height(regular 2WD SuperCrew)
They also have a sway bar for a 3" rear drop. So with the HD 1" lower than a stock F150, plus 2" drop shackles this is the bar for most of us.
I'm working with my local shop for it's pricing.
