Okay - driving home last nite I saw a lifted Ram cut a bunch of cars off & get into the lane I was in, several cars ahead of me. He was "cool" because he had a roll bar with 2 lights on his truck so he must have thought he didn't need to obey any laws!
Anyhow, we soon were directly behind each other in traffic that was backed up for at least 1/2 mile. This was a 1 lane/each direction street w/a shoulder & then grass. He had been riding the shoulder & was 1/2 on the road & at 1 point he pulled OFF ONTO the shoulder totally. I pulled up - I admit I was really annoyed by now but I didn't say a word to him - just pulled alongside. Next thing I know he's swearing at me, calling me a **** & that "c" word which I depsise! I am NOT a violent person but when I hear that word I want to slap the "man" using it! I just rolled down the passenger window so I could hear what he's saying & this was his "explanation" for his driving - "What the blank is wrong with you, don't you blanking know there's just 1 lane (I did - did he?) & I'm just trying to see how blanking far traffic is backed up"!
Now #1 - traffic is backed up to the light you nimrod! I could see that from my spot ON the road - I didn't need to ride 1/2 on the shoulder to tell! Then #2 - YES I KNOW IT'S 1 LANE & YOU LEFT THE LANE & WERE ON THE SHOULDER! HELLO???? #3 - you're an a$$ & I will admit I called him that!
Okay - he then gets out of his truck, runs up to the drivers door & starts saying he's NOT trying to be an idiot but what the blank am I trying to do & oh wow, I'm getting 1 whole car length ahead of him & calls me those words again! I guess the look on my face must have warned him - he ran back to his truck, jupmed 1/2 way iinto my lane & yeLls out "you're gona be sorry now - now I'm REALLY gonna **** you off" & sits there, inches off my passenger side bumper.
You all know because I've said it many times - I am a lady. I always behave as a lady. BUT - I have a breaking point too! I decided then if he hit my truck I'd smear him & his truck all over the road! I stayed on his backend as we inched forward & he stopped short every few inches - what a jerk!
Here comes the best part - ready? When the road widened, I flew past him, on the right & he was FURIOUS! Then he pulls up at the light & AGAIN said he's not trying to be an idiot & I inform him I am neither a **** nor that "c" word & he goes off on me again! The coups de grace was when I SHOUTED to him - SORRY IF YOU HAVE FORD ENVY" & took off!
We drove the next 3 miles like that - I was behind a semi & when he tried to cut in front of me (my lane was moving faster than his) I wouldn't let him & I got by him & kept on going. When I turned to go down my street he'd FOLLOWED me & I pulled into a parking lot to be able to get out & see what the hell his problem was but he just went by laying on the horn!
Anyhow, I: 1)kept my cool for the most part 2) got ahead of him & maintianed my spot & 3) TICKED HIM OFF REAL BAD W/MY FORD ENVY REMARK! That was so maddening to him it made this road rage incident funny! I think he must live near here - I CAN'T WAIT to see him again! Don't worry - I'll be careful - I wouldn't want my truck to get hurt! Besides - I HAVE HIS LICENSE PLATE #!!!!

I try my best 98 - some people just don't learn! This guy should have figured out I wasn't going to be intimidated easily from the start but especially when I called him on his Ford envy!
I am NOT an agressive driver by nature but mess w/me & I will stick up for myself & my truck! Leave me alone & I'll ignore you too. I saw his first idiotic move miles before we "met" so I KNEW I was dealing with a loose cannon! What HE didn't know is I learned to drive in NYC! yes it DOES make a difference!

 

Way to go Cowlady.
There is a fine line out there on the raodways. I know I try to be patient. It is difficult sometimes (a lot of the time), but I don't want to look like the bad guy. Unfortunately, we have to deal with people like the "ram" driver. I think it's necessary to give people like that a reality check. Just make sure you've got an out, in case they are a crazy, packing heat or something.

I didn't want to let this continue but HE did. That's why I didn't pull over originally! We were in an area of just cemetaries - no witnesses & trust me - NOBODY would have pulled over if I needed help or was being attacked! In fact, the Chevy pickup who had been tailgating me backed WAY off after seeing the Ram driver jump out if his truck & come running over to mine. Had it been reversed I would have, AT THE VERY LEAST, gone over to the truck in my place after the lunatic got back in his to ask if everything was okay. I'm different that way - I believe in helping people out & not many people here do.
At any rate I thought about the possibility of a gun & literally said a little paryer that he wasn't armed. The reason I flew by him wasn't to prove anything - I wanted distance between us as he kept stopping short as long as I was behind him. I figured it was best to keep moving, not pull over & go past & leave him to find someone else to mess with. The fact that he followed me after I made my turn could have been coincidence but as I watched him in my rear view I saw him cutting in & out of traffic to catch up so I'm pretty sure he followed to see where I'd gone. Luckily I pulled into a body shop lot of the corner so he will think I was (pardon the pun!) dodging him or else waiting for him. Hopefully he won't realize I live down the street & I don't have a garage so my truck is out there for anyone to see! I gotta move - I'm tired of worrying about my truck being spotted (even by my ex fiance), getting snowed on & being used as a TOY by the neighborhood kids!

I'm so glad you're okay. I hate when jerks like that pick on a lady. It's enough that he'd be a fanatic on the road but to pick on a lady tells me he's just a real wussy. That dude deserves his RAM and is a friggin idiot based on what you described he did to you.

I'll post more later once I cool off and not let my emotions influence what I think about that AH.

Cowlady, I have to agree with Dennis on this one !!!! We don't need anyone hurt for someone's idiotic behaveour (?-sp).

BUT I do see you making a call to Mike Troyer for a Superchip so you can really pull away from him if you should happen to met again. And, I hear it works good for keeping upto people when travelling in large groups and (Remembering the Oakville truck plant tour) 8-) when off-roading !!! LOL !!! Imagine the next time "Fearless" gets covered, you just jump in and drive out from underneath all of that snow.

Good job. But if you see him again be sure to tell him that you have 19,530 friends, and some of them may pay his Ram a visit late at night unless he remembers how to treat a lady.

 

I've got to say, I am proud of you!! You kept your cool way better then I would have, but the guys do have a point. Be careful, you don't know what kind of physcos are out there.

It's a shame that people act like that. Sometimes they need a reminder how to behave like a human. In this case, I doubt he is capable, of being human. It's makes you wonder what his family would think if they saw him do that.
A true example of character is what ones does when there are no witnesses, and you just saw his true character.
