my97: do you get to choose your units or at least request, or is it like the other military branches, where you go where they say.
pollution control doesn't seem quite as exciting but i'm sure it's important. i gotta get one of those surfman licenses

OH MAN!!!! You have no idea how much I want to go out on a 47 in heavy weather.
I've practically grown up in a boat (when I wasn't on the farm). My first recollection of piloting a boat was when I was 5 years old. We boat in an area where 10' seas are not unusual. Been out in 12 footers officially reported by the local CG's 25' RHI that was also searching for a friend of ours. The cutter was on patrol, so only small boats and aircraft were available. The RHI only lasted 5 hours. One of the 3 man crew was GREEN. LOL. We stayed out for 10 hours. Could have stayed out for 24 hours. We had enough diesel, food, and water, but our bodies were giving out. Friends were found, all safe, by the C-130 about an hour after we all secured back at the harbor. The Dolphin brought them back in.
my97offroad, a family friend made Captain not too long ago. She's the C.O. of the Boutwell (WHEC719). Do you know her?

For the most part, the enlisted and the officer types don't mix much.
Kinda like oil and water.
The E's are oil, slick and cool.
The O's are the water, boil easy and sink down low.

Sidewalk, I don't know what your problem is, but I'd like to see you tackle some of those waves yourself. And you're wrong about officers and enlisted; if they didn't get along that well, do you think our military would be as powerful as it is now? Enlisted would be nothing without the guidance and knowledge of the officers; officers would be nothing without the support and skill of the enlisted.
As far as Bill being a loser, you don't **** off Flea... Bill's my bro; I'll have to put a hurtin' on ya!
