Now I'm a little worried about my 02 that has 147k miles on it. I had been thinking that I could expect 250k out of it. I did buy it used seven years old with 69k miles and I'm not sure the oil was changed properly. When I bought it, it needed a battery and all of its fluids and filters changed. The oil was really black and the air filter was the dirtiest I've ever seen, so dirty that it was very noticeably down on hp.

Best of luck to you Raoul with the Dodge. I've been sorta thinking about getting a new Hemi 4x4 Ram. But, I'll probably wait until my engine blows! Ha!

If it makes you feel any better, my 2000 5.4 sold with over 200k on the clock and it had a procharger put on it in the last two years of me owning it. No problems, it was a great truck for me.

Raoul, that Dodge should do you pretty well. Keep up with the rust inhibitor!

The ram in the pic is faster.
My truck feels like I'm driving around with the parking brake on.

A lot of people swear by the Ram trucks or maybe its swearing at them? I checked out a new Ram dually about a month ago and was quite impressed with it. Anyway congrats on the new ride!

yeah I donated the F150 with 5.4 in it, to Rawhide. she had 162,000 on the clock. I will say though, I bought her to work and work she did. pulled car trailers, campers, quads and everything in between.

I probably could have sold it, the body and interior were immaculate still, tires were actually brand new. unfortunately I didn't have any old ones to slap on it. didn't want to deal with the idiots asking if they could try and fix it in my yard so called the folks at Rawhide to donate.

very easy, make a call and they come tow it away.

My Michelins were brand new, fortunately my daughters 4runner took the same size.
Cost her $80 to swap out for a $700 set.

The buyer left with four worn out Kelly tires.

nice. yeah I offered mine to my neighbor who had an F150, just like mine.
he was ready to do it until I mentioned he had to do the work and pay for the mounting.....LOL

so he would have been in to a new set of BFG All Terrains for $80 and a couple hours. he turned it down, said he thought I was going to just bring them over and put them on his truck.

Hey Raoul. Sorry to hear about the old 99. I got 255,000 miles out of my old 97 that I reluctantly traded for $2,000 on my 13 Ecoboost...

I basically gave it away.. I had just put $1000 worth of tires on the damn thing! DOH...

Anyway, water under the bridge and I just moved on as I'm sure you will.

Best of luck in the new location and the 'new' truck!

I too hope you stick around.. Always love your wit and chatty posts!

Mitch

Next few months I'll be tripping over boxes.
Hopefully by July I'll have internet up and can post some pics kicked back in an adirondack, drinking a beer with a view of the mountains from the front yard.

Didn't know a thing about Dodge and the truck didn't have an owners manual.
So I did research Dodge forums and found one that predated the truck.

Just been reading old threads written in '02 when this generation came out.
Every couple of pages I pick up a nugget of usable info.
I'm up to 2006, only three more years to wade thru.

(oh, those Dodge guys don't like you Ford guys. I found it documented over the last 15 years)
