Suffice it to say we were saved from the open borders, globalism crowd. The working class people all over are rising up against the elite globalists. Now that the UK has left the EU, more will follow and it will collapse. I read that CNN commented on the election saying that Hillary looked like she might win initially until the working people got off work and voted. That says it all.

 

I saw on the news today that there are protests all over because of the executive order President Trump signed blocking people travelling from the seven countries for 60 days and no refugees for 90 days. What part of terrorists lie and come in as refugees don't they understand.

On a related subject, why not round up all the illegals they can find, and since they are illegals, they are technically criminals, and force them to work on a chain gang under armed guards building the wall. The judge can decide how long for each illegal based on how long they have been here and if they tried to become a citizen. When their time is served release them on the other side of the wall. Free labor.

 

The liberals have no shame! President Trump is trying to keep the USA from being the scary place to live like France and all he gets is grief. France has been under martial law for about a year now with no letup in sight. They had to in order to suspend individual rights so they could locate and stop the jihadists. And Hollande has the nerve to say what Trump is doing is wrong.

 

So how is the temporary ban doing that? How is keeping dual citizens and VISA holders that have gone through the process to properly enter the country, out of it, doing something?

I 100% believe people are over reacting to this Executive Order, it's really not that bad. However, the blanket method that Trump has taken is simply not thought through. This will only fuel the fire of segregation and Trump will do little but send out defensive tweets to handle the situation.

Did anybody notice how the ban didn't include Egypt, Turkey or Saudi Arabia??? Citizens from two out of three of those countries have been involved in high profile terrorist attacks in the US. But, Trump wouldn't make a move that directly impacts his business ties, now would he?

 

Where do you start to keep our country safe from Terrorists? How do you protect people in our country from Terrorists who have radical believes, who follow no rules of society, and Who do not value even their own lives? And that doesn't count those who have been Radicalized here at home. These are not the days of Ellis Island. I'm sure this was well thought out. As President, Donald Trump has enough advisors, Legal staff and defense personnel to give him the intel, info and history needed to make these decisions. They were well aware of the coming fall out and legal battles that would probably insue. They knew some people would be caught in the crossfire and be inconvenienced. If people were legal citizens with a proper ID, Visa, passport, or green card they had nothing to worry about. If you are not a legal citizen, you do not have the Right to enter the United States.

 

People need to realize this isn't 1910 anymore, not everyone who comes here is in search of a better life, some actually have intent to do us harm. If you don't agree then leave, go live with those whack jobs over in the middle east.

How about the Tsarnaev brothers? (the Boston bombers) They were PROPERLY allowed in the country. Or how about the 9/11 hijackers? They were all in the US "PROPERLY". or more recently Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife (the San Bernadino shooters). Even though she went to a well known radical university and they were Facebook followers of ISIS. There are dozens more examples of people that have been allowed in the US and England and France and Holland and Italy and Germany, etc etc etc of people that were allowed in "PROPERLY" but that all turned out to be terrorists.

"PROPERLY" with regards to back ground checks during immigration is nothing but a BAD joke.

OH and BTW I have dual citizenship and I have NEVER had trouble getting into this country. And a good number of my family and friends have dual citizenship and NONE of them has had trouble getting into the US. Hell, I've had more trouble getting back into my birth country than I have the in the US! When you actually find someone that has dual citizenship that CAN'T get into this country, come and tell me who they are. I want to meet them.

OH and just for the record, your nonsense about dual citizens IS just nonsense! I haven't seen ANYTHING in Trump's order than prevents dual citizens into the US. I've also never heard of a dual US citizen that became a terrorist in the US.

It's a temporary action to allow the development of a better plan to vet people who are allowed to immigrate. (90 to 120 days) The people who had visas are being allowed to stay after a little scrutiny. I think we should settle the Syrian refugees in Hollywood and Malibu next to the movie star's homes. You have no issue as a dual citizen because of where your other citizenship is.

I had a co-worker rejected this morning after trying to come back from Iran after vacation. He is a US/Iranian Dual citizen. He has been living in the US for 10 years.

Agreed and Obama also put a temporary ban on refugees some time ago. But that was a ban on refugees, not everyone from that country.

Quite a few people were rejected as the executive order was released with no communication and thus the complete cluster this started out as.

Has anyone here seen the process to immigrate into the US? It certainly isn't a trivial process today.

 

My wife is an immigrant and I became familiar with the process. It took a while.

But, the problem is with many countries who don't have records on these people who want to come here. And so many places are corrupt. For a price you can buy any document you want. I doubt there is a good way to vet these people. But, if they can't be vetted properly, they should not be allowed to immigrate. Period. We've all seen vidoes of the stream of "Syrian" refugees trying to come to Europe. The majority of them are young males. Why? Someone said young American males leave their wives and families to go to the middle east to fight for their freedom while young males from the middle east leave their wives and families to immigrate to another country where they don't have to fight for their freedom.

Under the last several administrations, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants became citizens! How did that happen? The republicans want the cheap labor and the democrats want the new voters. That is why the working people of America rose up and voted into office Donald J. Trump!!!!! And he is doing exactly what he said he would do when he ran for the office. Surprise!!!

The difference is banning everyone from those countries. Not all countries that should be on that list are on it.

In the end are people who aren't seeking immigration going to be allowed in after the temporary ban? If so, haven't we seen that so many terrorist acts have been carried out by those just seeking to "visit" and not seeking immigration?

I'm just not sure of the end-game here. I'm certainly not surprised that he is doing what he said he would. As I stated earlier in this thread, he will act like he does in business and do what he wants. I'm all for domestic labor, but keep in mind that the higher the cost to make goods, the higher the cost to the end consumer. Hopefully it's balanced so that the all people make more money to be able to afford the higher cost. Trump has been all for out-sourcing jobs if it means more money in his pocket.

One problem with too many immigrants is that the immigrants are not being assimilated. People who do not want to abide by our constitution and assimilate should never be allowed to immigrate. If they believe in sharia law, stay in the middle east. If they believe in honor killings, stay where they are. If they believe in the subjigation of women stay where they are. If they believe in the removal of womens clitoris's so they won't cheat on their husbands, stay where they are. This is happening in the USA now.

The problem with all those cheap goods we are buying because companies were allowed to move their plants to another country where labor is pennies on the dollar compared to the USA is that there is a record number of people in the USA who don't have jobs. Those people aren't paying income taxes. They are being supported in one way or another by the people who are working and with our huge deficit spending spree. This is also causing a huge trade deficit. The countries who have trade surpluses with the USA are buying up companies and property in the USA at a record rate. Big companies donate lots of money to politicians and control who gets elected. Bad news for working citizens. The deficit spending if it isn't stopped will cause a collapse of our government and an extreme depression. These are two ways we are losing our country. Donald Trump is the only politician who is trying to fix these issues. God Bless Donald J. Trump!

 

Yes, Immigrants need to be assimilated and come in at a reasonable rate. I really hope our idiot leader (Trudeau) sees that.

Doing too much too fast when it comes to trying to get production back in the US will cause it's own set of issues. I just hope that it's done in a manner that won't create huge gaps in supply.
