Yeah, do that!
If I did what I really want to do to a beater, I would probably have bought 3 Focus ST's. - Og

Just got a call from the service department. Guess what? The car is ready. The service guy said the high pressure fuel pump had to be replaced again. He went on to say he was told to check the head and everything "seemed" fine. Ok. Here's the plan: pick the car up, drive it 3 hours to get to mom's for the holidays, drive 3 hours back, check for leaks. Leak? -> Back to dealer. No leak? -> Trade. Not quite the 11th hour, but oh, well. - Og

7 days shy and 1 more time to fix. Do I wait on a leak to happen or go on and trade to achieve happiness and peace of mind? - Og

Wait till it leaks again. The chances are high. I'd give it a month or two and see what happens because it could be a difference in thousands and it won't depreciate much in that time.

That's what I'm thinking. No need to rush. - Og

I was getting ready to leave to dealership and before I did, I raised the hood to take a look at the high pressure fuel pump. It was ticking like a broken clock. I called the service manager over and he got the tech on it. I almost couldn't believe it - the isolator was missing which made the ticking unbearable inside the car. The tech said he forgot to replace it and later, couldn't find it. They took one off of a ST on the lot and placed it on the pump. Drove it home and it's my guess there will be another leak by 900 - 1000 miles. This was the same fix as before. The tech said Ford's next move was a new engine install. My faith in this purchase continues to sink lower with every issue. - Og

It gets better. Ford Roadside damaged my front bumper. The service manager verified the scratches. Got to call them tomorrow and place a claim for repair. - Og

My bad, sir. I thought - with the person I know you are - you were installing a 5/7 drop kit or something on your wife ride and discovered the problem. - Og

I'm thinking trade, but after my research, I'd lose a couple grand on the vehicle I'm looking at. Being patient. - Og
