Thanks, Pat. The first fix was a high pressure fuel pump and some kind of bent bracket mounted to the block, I was told. Damaged during manufacture. First trip back to dealership was at 310 miles. This trip, 654 miles. - Og

Two choices:
1 - Ford buys the car back and clears me of it completely.
2 - Dealer stated they will give me "top dollar" to trade.

Now, I wasn't born 100 years ago, but I'm sure "top dollar" isn't what I paid for it. I know I'm not keeping it, just waiting to see if Ford will do good by me before my next move. Waiting game until I hear back from the Customer Relationship Center and the dealer. - Og

Ha! Nope. 2.0L Turbocharged EcoNightmare with the "oil leak at every 300 miles" option. - Og

Sorry about your Eco-Doom! Ford injected these motors into the public way too soon in my opinion without proper testing! The complaints & problems are well documented! Stand up & make sure the motor company does right by you!

FWIW we had no engine failure, no isolated oil leaks, and only two some what widespread issues with the 2.0L EB in the RR Evoque.

Periodic unexplained coolant loss. Gallery plugs under valve cover leak because they weren't tightened properly
Intercooler issues causing misfires (same issues Ford cars have)
I've also heard of a few techs at other LR shops that have had cam sprocket issues

Worst buying experience ever. Ford has declined my requests to buy it back on both occasions. - Og

True. One more attempt to repair (3 total) or 30 consecutive days of non-use. This is day 12. - Og

It is what it is dude! The Ecoboost engines are way too hit or miss! You either get a good one or a piece of junk! I would be really worried once I was out of the factory warranty period with one of these motors! Heck this poor guy isn't even at 1000 miles yet!

The way I viewed ecoboost was another feeble attempt at incorporating turbos to deliver gas mileage with promises that have not been fulfilled since the 70's. Yet, here they come--not on my 5.0, but fish are getting hooked and reeled.

With that, there is no reason for this and I am thinking Ford wants to know who built your engine with what. That is not normal and not a fair representation. Sorry

Jeez . . . at this point, you best make sure it gets a third oil leak, whether through "natural" causes or "intimidation" . . .

Amen brother! I have done much research on these motors other than on this site! I would not want one of these motors once out of the factory warranty period! I have read about many people replacing intercoolers, turbo's , & blocks around 67-77 K miles! Not pretty at all. Can get very pricey!

Just wait - there's a very good chance the Superduty is going to get a EB 5.0 to replace the 6.2 one of these days. Like it or not, Ford is into the EB technology with both feet. You can thank our wonderful gummint with CAFE regulations for that.

It won't be long before everything that runs on liquid or gaseous fuel will have turbos.
