We all only watch now when there is nothing else going on and then its more like backgroind noise with no one looking at the tv. The other thing that sucks is that with the points system its possible to win the cup and never win a race. Screw the points and give the winner of each race a big check.
Sound like you haven't watched in a while. They stopped that point system when Kenseth won the championship without winning a race. Now they have the Chase for the Cup. They are slowly getting back to the old days racing. I'm sure you'll like what you see today.

Actually that year Matt won one race. All but three or four he finished in the top 10. Most races he finished in the top five. He won it based on his consistantly high finishes. He had such a huge lead that all he had to do at Homestead was qualify.
