Nascar?

who on here watches nascar? i hear they have made a few changes, not sure on all what they did, i do know they did add EFI to the cars, any other things im missing? and to all those Jimmy Johnson fans :ll: GO EDWARDS!!!

str8t six 02-23-2012 07:19 PM

when did they add EFI?

projetmech 02-23-2012 07:27 PM

I have watched naacar for years. Unfortunately like everything else its gotten to commercial. Too many restrictions and to many rules. Used to get excited about the first real race of the season at daytona. With the drafting what my friends in fllorida call " love bug racing" it sucks. We all only watch now when there is nothing else going on and then its more like backgroind noise with no one looking at the tv. The other thing that sucks is that with the points system its possible to win the cup and never win a race. Screw the points and give the winner of each race a big check.

I love NASCAR! Along with EFI, for daytona they made the radiators smaller, more restrictions on the cooling so the cars can't stay tucked up to one another in that 2-car draft. They're pack to pack racing again. I hate restrictor plate racing, not real racing in my opinion, just a bunch of wrecked cars.

I hate the chase format. Lots of real champions haven't won it because of the system.

Oh....

GO GORDON!!! ;)

Str8t, they added it this year, and yea projetmech i agree, anyone can win it without winning a race, its sad...

I am a huge NASCAR fan. I can't decide which race I am going to this year, Its either gonna be Talladega, Atlanta or Las Vegas.

risupercrewman 02-24-2012 11:22 AM

I watched NASCAR when there were no restrictor plates & no speed limits on pit road! Now that was racin baby!!!

Do 'Dega or Atlanta. Vegas is quite boring.

I've been going to 'Dega for about 12 years straight for both races. Now I'm just down to doing the spring race every year in the infield for 5 days. :beers:

Last year me and some guys from work started picking a different track to go every year. Last year was the night race at Bristol, which was my 2nd time. This year is the spring race at Martinsville. Looking forward to some red hotdogs.

I also hit all the West coast track while I was working out there in 2010.

harleydude78 02-24-2012 05:33 PM

I have done Dega twice before, it is a good time. Now that pack racing is back for the most part I am leaning towards going there again. I have a free place to stay in Atlanta though so thats why I am interested in going there for a change.

Go Carl!

I saw Cale Yarborough win in '84 when it was just bleacher seats on the backstrech..

That's where we were.

...zap!

Watched it with my dad since i was a kid and the few races that were televised. Richard Petty was my guy. Now its JJ...yeah i know..i am currently working on thd hvac design for Food City headquarters..drawings due in two weeks..i hope they reward me with tickets to the Food City 500 at Bristol in a few weeks...its 2 hours from me...i have little to no hope that will happen...one day i will make it to Bristol. My first live race was the first night race at Daytona..

jake605ktm 02-24-2012 10:26 PM

my dad worked for years (11 years) with mark martin as a tire carrier and then later worked directly for him and was his motorcoach driver. ive been to many races and it just seems to get more and more rigged each year.

i mean who wins 5 championships in a row?? seriously?? notice how they will throw alot of debris cautions and you never see the debris?? its because they want to bunch the field back up and make a finish to the race.

ive quit watching for the most part besides the restrictor place races and short tracks like richmond and bristol.

luckly before my dad quit working in nascar i was able to get a deal on my f150 from marks dealership in arkansas.

btw...go edwards!!

TruckGuy24 02-24-2012 11:24 PM

I agree, big fan here, but it's getting too restricted. Kind of getting old with constant rules and this and that.

Go Gordon!

Uncle Jesse 02-25-2012 10:43 PM

i would really like to meet Mark Martin. He honestly seems like a real great guy..not phony just hard working and very appreciative of everything he has earned.

kp02-150 02-25-2012 10:54 PM

I'm glad they tried to kill that two car train nonsense. Seems to be paying off.

I really have nothing against Danica Patrick, but the press hype has driven me crazy since last year in her Busch aka Nationwide run.
