In most states, you pay the taxes of the state you title in. An example is if I buy in Pa. they would not collect Pa. sales taxes. But I would have to come up with the cash for Md sales tax. What really would be bad is if you had to pay in both.

I think in most cases the state you live in will try to hit you for the sales tax if you bring in a vehicle you just purchased out of sate. Maybe there are some loopholes or exceptions, but my understanding it there is 1 year window.
IOTW, if you try and register it in your state within 12 months of the purchase, they will attempt to collect the sales tax.

That's mine. Even after a couple of winters my f150 from North Carolina is already starting to look bad underneath, but the ones here are worse.
