that's nothing. I have 9 vehicles right now. 4 at home and 5 out at the farm.

Similiar boat i am in.. we are trying to have a kid (practice practice) and buy a house. We just got the wife a 2008 Escape to repalce the horrible Focus she had. So, now she is safe and has a/c. Planning on buying a house in the next 5-6 months, been saving. I even got a part time job at the car wash on weekends.. it's not fun, but kids and houses are expensive. My truck has been paid off for almost a year and a half...no plans to upgrade in the near future for me. I have an extended cab. Will work with a car seat in a pinch. Trying to double up on her car payments, get it paid off in 2 years. I only have one credit card to pay on, should be done early next year.
I would wait until you need to upgrade, then pay cash if possible. Why have payments if it's not necessary? We pay everything cash (except her car loan).. nothing else goes on credit cards.

Yeah, I think I decided to keep the truck, then just give the wife extra cash for her car loan.

Hey Raoul please help me out. I bought a new truck last month and after reading your posts I now want to be an astronaut also. My wife does not have a problem with it because she always said I was a spaces shot. Where can I get an application? LMAO

I thought that by having a super crew that I'd be driving with the family (wife and three kids) in it more. Now the idea of putting those dirty heathens in my back seat makes me wish I bought a scab or regular cab, (wanna trade?). Buy her a mini van, women love driving mini vans at least I think that's what my wife is saying when I see her driving hers. I personally can't stand driving it and I think I'm looking forward to getting her something different more than she is.

That's contingent,- if she's still around. (?)

Gives me a chance to be richer!

Btw, I have enough money to pay this badass HD truck off. I hate "want" feelings!

Wait until you have 2 kids, you'll change your mind. Before kids my wife swore she would never drive a minivan, then 2 kids later she wants one...

My stepdaughter got a minivan when she was pregnant with her 3rd kid, she traded in a Mercury Tracer 4 door sedan. She now has 4 kids, but the oldest is out of the house and the other 3 are all out of booster seats, so she finally retired the van and bought a Kia Sorento. My son in law is now driving the van to work because it gets better gas mileage (99 Grand Caravan with a 3.3) than his F-150. The 15 year old will be getting his permit soon and he's already trying to lay claim to the F-150.

I'll get a SUV before a mini-van. I'd even lower the SUV just to make it easier for her. I'm going to hate having kids.

SUV's and mini vans look so much alike now, it's not a big deal. But the Mini Vans are much more comfortable and roomy.

My wife's Envoy was in the shop for a few days recently, so she drove a Caravan that we use for a delivery van. She said when she gets a new car it will prolly be a Mini Van

The cross overs, are just that, I think people buy them because they're almost a Min Van, but not a Mini Van.

Isn't it sexy? Just $5k would come out of my pocket and it'll have just alittle bit more miles than my regular cab.
