So you're saying it is ok to yell at someone, make a racial remark and publicly threaten to physically harm them because they did not like how you parked?

He has NO proof that the maintenance guy did anything wrong other than a hunch. Yup, he gave him the stink eye. So would most everyone on here if they had been yelled at by someone. Hate to break it to you but giving mean looks is not a crime.

Like I said, if the guy did it then throw the book at him. What is to say some random street punks might have done it? The fact that he is a cop should mean he knows better. It is his job to deal with these situations. He entered the wrong when he lost his cool on the guy. It has been mentioned before, the proper course of action would have been to go consult the manager and make arrangements. I’ve been in similar situations and yelled and raged at someone and other times been cool and polite, option 2 works better every time.

You know it! 'Cause yelling at an employee, racial slurs and threatened violence are all the rage today.

[QUOTE=Wookie;4699257] you see how most of us regular citizens feel about the authority figures [QUOTE]

Some regular citizens may well feel that way but Not most. The majority of people who have issues with authority figures, mainly law enforcement have had run in's with the police that they brought upon themselves.
The person who say's "I was just sittin there doing nothing and the cop just started harrasing me" Is full of S*!t.

I have read and re-read the original post several times and I don't read anywhere where the OP said he yelled racial slurs at the man !
Did I miss something ??

There you go making things up in your head again to fit your rabid hatred of cops filled opinion. Reading is fundamental. Your blind hatred for cops really makes you come across as a fool. Nowhere does Ri say that he yelled any racial slurs at the worker or threatened the worker with physical violence. Ri said he was nice and then that the guy would not leave him or his girl alone. At that point I would have told him in a stern tone to mind his own business too.

Any hotel I have ever stayed at gets my make/model and plate when I stay there. That way if there are any issues the front desk will contact me. If the manager had a problem with it (which we don't even know if thats the case), he/she shouldnt have sent some low level landscaper to come address it. Managers get payed to deal with those things themselves.

I am not sticking up for anyone, all I am saying is from the outside looking in there is blame to be laid on both sides of this and I probably would have handled it the same way after driving all day and batteling traffic by telling the guy to kiss my *** and leave me alone. I have friends that are cops and I pray every day that they go home to their families at the end of every shift I also have alot of repsect for all LEO's for doing what they do because I sure hell couldn't do it because I just have the temperment for it.

There is not blame to be laid on both sides on this. Riser didn't slash his own tires. Just because somebody pisses you off or disagrees with you doesn't make it ok to slash his tires.

What should have been done was: you say, "Okay, let me talk to the front desk and ask permission to park like this", and then you proceed to go to the front desk, talk to a manager explain the situation, and get permission to park the way you were parked. remember, you don't own the place. you also don't have the right to just do what ever the hell you want on other people's/company's property.

He should not have slashed the tires, that is, as you have said, cowardly, but you are not completely blameless and innocent here (assuming this guy is the one who did it). probably would have been completely avoided if you had been level headed and. spoken to someone in an authority position at the establishment and gotten permission. Then you could direct the guy to talk to the manager / owner / or whatever.
.
You just went from an **** to a Butt Squirt! Somebody could have been hurt or worse! A crime was committed!

The part about this that is scary is it only takes about a second to slash a tire so it is flat. But to take the time to only cut part way through would take alot more time and effort. Now do that to two tires, if it was the maintainence guy then he had to be some kind of sick puppy. And all over having his butt chewed very lightly. I can't even imagine some one defending the slasher, IMHO any one that would do that is begging for a 9mm injection.

For everbody's information this scumbag took the time to carefully cut two little squares on each tire's sidewall one left front the other right rear tire! He cut deep, on three of the sides & left the fourth side of the square me made uncut so that it would fold over & looked untouched! That tells me that he really wanted to do us harm not thinking that I would discover this! This scumbag wanted to hurt us! He is a lucky man that I did not see him do any of this because he would be in a morgue right now with a tag on his toe!...

wow that definately shows malice and intent, doesnt sound like something some random punk walking down the street would do. I think your hunch that he did that is more than likely the truth. I hope they have him doing it on the video. Keep me posted bro

That right there is not the act of some one pizzed for getting "yelled" at. That is pre-meditated intent to do some one great physical harm.

The only not-fer-sure here is weather it was the maintainence guy. I hope they have who ever it was on tape and can catch them. The gardner does seem to be the prime suspect in this who dunnit though.

Wow, even if you were in the wrong by telling him this or that, there is no excuse for that kind of retaliation. Hope they catch him on camera, and thank god no one was injured.

Yeah that's really serious, that's sickening that someone would put that much thought into it.

Thats some scary stuff dude!!!! All this BS about ri talking to the manager or the manager talking to ri is lame. Ri stated that he's been a customer there more than once. Never a problem before. Now there's a new maintenance guy and all of a sudden things change? Whatever! It's not like it was a super busy holiday weekend or he parked across three handicap spots or something. He parked well out of the way where it wouldn't have bothered anybody. Then along comes Mr pissy thinkin he's all that and doesn't even ask him to park differently. HE DEMANDS IT! would I get pissy back? Yes I would, immediately! I'd be like hold your horses chief! But no, ri simply explains his situation and offers up some reasoning. Then the idiot continues to be an **** about it and that's when ri kinda lost his cool. Also you have to understand that cops aren't cops 24/7. It's a job like any else. One that takes greater personal sacrifice and chances, yes. But a job nevertheless. Ri's reaction was human. The nut job who slashed his tires in such a malicious manner is just plain murderous!
Ri I'm glad all it cost you was $600 and not your life. I hope they find out who did this and hit em up with attempted manslaughter. The intent is to well defined to be simple property damage.
