Thanks for posting this.. He obviously isn't scared since he's camped out on your porch, not too sure I'd want to walk up on him. He's beautiful though.

Lockhart is the "Bbq Capital of Texas" so I guess you really can't go wrong with any of them, I honestly don't know what all the hype is about though I have had just as good back yard bbq.
I haven't been to City Market before. I often stop in Luling on my trips over to SAT and eat at Luling BBQ -- they have nice outdoor tables where you can sit, eat some BBQ and watch the world go by on a nice day! Where is City Market as I come into town off I-10?

David, have you ever tried Cooper's BBQ? The one at Mason, TX is awesome.

No -- never heard of it. In fact, I had to pull out the map and see where Mason was since I've never been there before. If my memory serves me correctly, Brady is as close as I've ever been to it.

Cooper's started down there in that area but now are all over the hill country. They even have one in the Stockyards in Fort Worth. Awesome stuff!

We were just at the Stockyards a few weeks back but I didn't notice it. It would have been a moot point if I had, however, since my wife despises BBQ joints and refuses to eat at them! The favorite part of my birthday and Father's Day is that I get to choose a place to go out for lunch or dinner and I inevitably choose BBQ -- probably more to see the look on my wife's face than for the food itself.....

Cooper's has a little different setup. You buy the meat you want by the weight. They wrap it in butcher paper and you take it to the dining area where the bread and sides are help your self. I bet she would like that even less!

Believe me -- that's exactly the kind of places I take her on my "special days"......

For some reason, she's never seen the charm of eating smoked meat off a sheet of waxed paper.....
