Finally got a chance to go look up Federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) bill came from.

This is a by product of the 111th congress.
- House : 255 Democrats / 179 Republicans
- Senate : 56 Democrats / 2 Independents ( caucusing with Democrats ) / 42 Republicans.

This was introduced as House Bill H.R. 4853 introduced by Jim Oberstar D - MN

The House passed the final debated version 277 to 148
The Senate passed the final debated version 81 to 19

Seems on both the Senate and the House, some Republicans did support it, but the Majority of the votes to pass the bill, were Democrats.

The POTUS signed it in DEC-2010 ( the guy you are supporting for 2012 ).

So when it comes down to it, the blame for the required minimum unemployment rate for the state to get the extended UI funding, can be squarely placed on the shoulders of the Democrat Party.

Kindly edit your 1st post in this thread, so the last line is changed to :

THANKS Democrats for trying to cut unemployment benefits......Yeah, there really for the people

I am going to call BS.

Living in the union-busting state of WI, I am in the market to change jobs. I have applied for 6 jobs, I have interviews for 5 of them, and have gotten offered one of them already. Doesn't exactly sound like no jobs to me...

Look where unemployment is bad... its in areas run by lib's... Detroit, Chicago, etc.

From the OP:

"Democrats say the GOP is rushing reform. House Republican leaders tried and failed to get a measure to address the solvency of the state's unemployment compensation system through the chamber two weeks ago."

I always love it when the Democrats stall every attempt at reform and delay budgets until the last minute and then HOWL that it's all the Republicans fault that people might miss their nanny-state welfare payments!

To the OP; Yes I've been laid off mainy times but I never set back and collected unemployment for years on end! The longest that I was ever able to get unemployment was 26 weeks and I somehow managed to survive. IF you really wanted to work, you'd get out of that busted *** state and move to some place that has jobs, like Texas. Even if it meant leaving your high paying, union wage state!

Like the song says, those jobs are gone and they ain't never coming back!

I also dont know how people are unemployed. Where I live in PA there are literally hundreds of gas and oil field jobs. Heck there putting in a natural gas powerplant as we speak across the street from me. Obama is just a liberal that keeps promising this and that and blaming bush for our debt and all the problems. A true leader mans up and fixes problems, not create more. Im a gun toting Republican who strongly dislikes Barack H Obama!!! Whoever thinks he is doing good deeds trying to throw our amendments out the window and insist on raising the debt ceiling what seems like every few months is just plain nuts! I dont care if people get butt hurt about that either. America needs to open there eyes. Of course the people who can sponge off the government love him. Why not, they keep getting free handouts that just makes them that much more lazy. Those benefits are for people who actually need them. And we wonder why were 17 trillion+ in debt. Makes me puke. I hate to say it but we need a revolution! Thats all now....
