In Response to "A Proposal"
Or maybe nobody has any business telling anyone else when the end of the discussion is, unless the thread is locked by an admin of course.
That's more like it. If you can't take the heat, get out of the oven.
In the event you guys only chose to read one side of the story or none at all, here is a summary of what really happened.
He posted his final thoughts by concluding, "And I will leave it at that..."
So, I gave my final statement and agreed with him by concluding, End of discussion.
After I agreed with him to end the discussion, (end of discussion, "between him and I"). He not only came back and broke his promise, he also came back to throw a personal insult at me.
I then responded to his personal insult and kindly suggest that he pm me or e-mailed me in order to continue dealing with each other.
Once he started insulting my person I knew it wasn't going to end just there, for which reason I then concluded assertively with 'END OF DISCUSSION".
Adamant, he came back to instigate and poke at me some more.
I then took the initiative to PM him after I repeatedly asked him to stop.
He posted his final thoughts by concluding, "And I will leave it at that..."
OG, your statements on christianity and the Bible shows that you really don't know much about it. You are now cherry picking quotes from the Bible...
David Barton is a historian that happens to be a christian. He has videos, books, and writings that go down the lines of each FF. He can give a biography on all the FF's, what they believed government should be, what religion they were, what their jobs were, family history, ect.
I am willing to bet you have not read a single book of his. You just linked some atheist sites from google to find some dirt on him.
Just to tingle your senses, read up on Benjamin Rush. When you want some more christian founding fathers to research let me know.
Fact is there were christian founding fathers, that is where you are wrong and why I even posted a response in this thread.
We all know atheists want to prove that they were 'deists'. (which I find kinda ironic)
We all know christians want to prove that they were christians.
All because the FF's did a fine job and everyone wants to claim them for themselves. Fact is you could count the atheists on 1 hand, and the rest believed in God(christ or a deity). And I will leave it at that...

I got a pretty good idea of what the guy is all about just from his statements about Jefferson's work. The guy is completely wrong in more than one area. His judgement is obviously very clouded by his faith and his need to control other people. I just don't get why some people have the need to believe that people from the past were of the same beliefs, and have the arrogance and mindset to misrepresent historical facts.
But enough said, go ahead and believe that Thomas Jefferson was a Christian. Believe that Franklin was too. Believe hearsay from 100 years after Jefferson, and don't rely on the writings of Jefferson himself. Believe people like Barton and trust in rumor if you like.
End of discussion.

My wonderful Christian brother, thank you for the kind words. I can actually feel the Christian love you project.
Seriously though, even though you presume to possess the power to almost damn me to hell, I am not mad at you for calling me an idiot, I admit, I am. What I don't appreciate is you calling yourself an idiot. That isn't THE worst insult to only my person but to All the idiots, in general.
But like Thomas Jefferson, I believe Jesus was right as far as his moral values go, and so I should forgive you (even though, like Jefferson, I believe Jesus was only a man).
One last time, END OF DISCUSSION....... but if you still feel the need to insult me some more please send your insult to my pm box or e-mail address: daterrorizer@gmail.com
Thank you,
Attentively,
Leonardo.

Which was back to my original point.
If you were to tell me, "end of discussion" I would assume you had nothing more to add, or our arguments were cyclical or we had resorted to insults.
I don't remember how exactly he put it but the point he made was that they don't have the time to moderate every thread and every post. So, if I were going to open a thread that I should be the responsible one to monitor the posts in my thread. That I should first let the member aware of the situation and if nothing is done then to take the next step to report it to the moderator or administrator.
The situation here had escalated to personal insults AFTER WE AGREED to end the discussion between him and I. For which reason I first, kindly asked him to pm or e-mail me; I even posted my e-mail address.
My attempt, by taking the first step and offering to deal with each other in private instead of in public, was not only in the best interest of F150Online but to minimize the amount of complaints I'm sure the moderators have to deal with on a daily basis.

P.S.
When I said end of discussion I didn't mean to imply that I didn't want to discuss the topic with everybody, "just between him and I".
I don't mind continuing the discussion with any of you as long as you're adult enough to not resort to personal insults. It is a good thing, exercise your critical thinking and skepticism, I love to exercise mine.

We aren't paying you to just sit there and let people to work out their differences.
It's a good thing too. I would starve to death on that income!

Tsk, tsk boys, don't make us start moderating the Moderators. That would truly be the fox guarding the hen house.
OG is a gentleman and I would have expected nothing less but for him to quell the disturbance before it got out of hand. I can't for the life of me understand why a poster in another thread lumped him in with all us common rabble.
