But enough said, go ahead and believe that Thomas Jefferson was a Christian. Believe that Franklin was too. Believe hearsay from 100 years after Jefferson, and don't rely on the writings of Jefferson himself. Believe people like Barton and trust in rumor if you like.

End of discussion.
Amen! And I mean that in the most Christian of ways.

I never said that those founders were. Barton says in his speeches that Franklin and Jefferson were the only atheists.

Why I stuck my head in this thread to clear up some things I don't know why... I'm an idiot for arguing with an idiot.

Self taught Historian.

I only found he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Oral Roberts University.

This is inline with me being a self taught doctor, would you want me as your surgeon ?

I am sure my google medical degree is just as good as the guy from John Hopkins....

So would you be willing to debate him in a live discussion about American history?

Live and learn man. You never stick your head in a GD discussion about religion, politics, or education and CLEAR anything up.

My wonderful Christian brother, thank you for the kind words. I can actually feel the Christian love you project.

Seriously though, even though you presume to possess the power to almost damn me to hell, I am not mad at you for calling me an idiot, I admit, I am. What I don't appreciate is you calling yourself an idiot. That isn't THE worst insult to only my person but to All the idiots, in general.

But like Thomas Jefferson, I believe Jesus was right as far as his moral values go, and so I should forgive you (even though, like Jefferson, I believe Jesus was only a man).

One last time, END OF DISCUSSION....... but if you still feel the need to insult me some more please send your insult to my pm box or e-mail address: daterrorizer@gmail.com

Thank you,

Attentively,

Leonardo.

S.FX4 Since you can't seem to grasp the concept of "END OF DISCUSSION", I have taken the initiative to take you up in the PM BOX.

And, we don't moderate the PMs. Speaking for myself, you can have a "free for all" in PMs, and I don't care. But, don't come crying that someone has hurt your feelings in a PM. I won't have much sympathy.

You can respond, or ignore a PM at your discretion.

I've had several PMs with people I generally don't agree with. Hopefully, no one has a bruised ego. I know I don't. (And, I know I did not change their attitude on anything - such is life.) *shrug*

You beat me to it.

If facts were not important, anyone can be a historian.
The part I cannot stand, are the "This is what they meant by x" group. Really, you were there and knew what they meant.
Don't forget they spoke in the Queens English, which has it's own twists.

Back in those days, a double negative was meant as an emphatic, where today it is considered improper to use a double negative.

Along the same line of thought, misquotes ( which is what is really going on with the what they meant by x group )
My favorite misquote :
"Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it"

This is a paraphrase of what was said, and should not have quotes around it, but most miss this part of quoting someone.

You can paraphrase what someone said, just state it as a paraphrase ( or more correctly an opinion ), do not quote the person....
