Well my 400 Polaris Xplorer finally died on me... My brother in law has a friend that his dad is selling his 99 sportsman 500 with trailer for $3,000. The Kicker is this atv only has 35 hours on it! He has a small peice of land for deer hunting and that is the only time he has road it since he bought it brand new.. To me this is a outstanding deal but im also not sure how atv pricing is. So Question is 99 Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4 4 stroke with 35 hours on it with a 5x10 trailer for 3,000 Dollars?

I'd try to talk him down just to see if I could get it for cheaper but that's not a bad deal.

Do you need the trailer?

Here is one that looks nice for $1700 on my local craigslist, also comes with a bunch of extra parts. I'd think for $3k you could pick up much newer than a 1999.

well got the 99 yesterday... This atv is in MINT condition, no scratches, scuffs or anything... Tires still have the little knobbie's on them... It had 50 hours on it and 120 miles, it now has 130 miles on it.. It also came with a heavy duty 5x10 trailer with ramp gate, brand new tires, bearings. I got him to 2700.00. Pics to come tomorrow.

Congrats!

I know its older, but so clean and with mileage that low + a decent trailer I think you made a great buy.

Figured id update this thread, these things are too fun.. I still have the 99 Polaris Sportsman has 450 miles on it now, and the 01 Honda 400 Ex.

Found this 99 Honda Recon 250 on Craigslist a few months ago and bought it for $1100. The guy was riding it on the street in town and got in trouble with the sheriff and he got a 600 dollar ticket.

Then 2 days ago this 02 Yamaha Big Bear came up on Craigslist and ended up getting this one also. Has 1100 Miles on it

Get both! I have a 08 CRF450 bought new and love it, grew up on bikes though. I also have a honda rincon 680. Both tough as nails and both real fun. Cant go wrong with a HONDA

Keep the Polaris and 400ex and try to flip the Recon and Big Bear.

Don't literally flip them, try to profit from them

Sell them all and get a big boy quad...you know, one that everyone won't mistake for your wife's.
