International has nowhere near the cahuna's of cummins.. That's why ford is making there own diesel now.
I guess its a little different in Tennessee down here in Texas where we actually use trucks, if its pulling something heavy all the time or just getting the hell beat out of it its most likely a FORD.

BTW I didn't just give a motortrend link I gave a wards and Pickuptruck.com link also, both of which are usually trusted. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean they aren't correct. Also if you actually pay attention all the links were on Fords in house diesel.

Here is a easy fix to this whole thread go buy a dodge with a cummins, then in 6-8 months come back and tell us how sorry you are for making this thread.

The average guy can't wrench on a new Ferrari, or new Lamborghini, or a new Aston Martin, or a F-22, I guess they are all inferior to the products that they replaced. Hell all airplane's since the move away from the piston engine have been garbage I guess. How about fuel injection, is that ruining engines? How about electronic ignition, should we all be filing points still?

I get what your trying to say, its just not a great argument. You can say all this new stuff makes it harder to work on them, and most people will agree with you. However you can't say all this new stuff makes them worse, because there isn't much of an argument for that point of view.

A Cummins is a great engine in a crappy truck. A 6.0/6.4 Navistar is a high maintenance diesel in a great truck. A Dirtymax is a so-so engine in a so-so truck. The 6.7 Mexistroke is too new to have any real maintenance data yet.

I get the impression that your upset.. thats no good. I didn't actually click on your links or look at them i just saw motortrend, there the most biased sob around, just like every other one out there pickuptrucks.ocm included. You gotta find out for yourself. Those links mean nothing. For instance someone said something about dodge being dead last or something but last year motortrend gave the Dodge HD 2500 truck of the year.. explain that one..there full of it.
And maybe one of these days.. With my income like it is now, if i ran accross a 89-93 Dodge 2500 12v cummins, I would trade in a heartbeat. Plus some cash! haha
I realize that last that dodge has been a kinda crappy built truck(not mechanically imo) as far as interiors and all that bs. But they have made massive improvements. You can't argue with that. I feel the new ones are really nice on the inside. If you go by motortrend they wouldn't have given it truck of the year last year if it was a crap interior i wouldn't think.. This thread isn't meant for anyone to get upset or defensive geez.

I mostly agree but i gotta say cummins is a great engine but i don't think you can label a dodge as being a crappy("crappy truck" 10/15yrs ago) truck now days. Maybe not as nice as a Ford..but look how long ford ahs ruled the market. im just saying dodge is makinmg strides whether anyone on here wants to awknowledge it or not. haha And i def hope that new 6.7 is the bomb don't get me wrong!

Consumer reports has Chrysler in general ranked last for reliability out of ALL brands, that includes the 2500 with cummins. I wouldn't own anything made from that company except for a viper, and high maintenance cost is expected on a supercar. Anything rolling out of one of their plants is inferior, the only good thing their 2500 truck line has going for it is a diesel engine that someone else builds.

So do you own one of each of these trucks? Or have you spent an equal amount of time using them all in the real world? If not then according to you, you have no business comparing them.

No one here has tested all 3 of these trucks, all we can do is go by the history the companies have, and the test that are out there on the trucks. In both cases the dodge sucks.

PMS'n eeh? Your just getting me hot and bothered.
And im not comparing them like your saying i've just made comments like cummins are good motors.. ive been in new dodges and fords they're both nice. Navistar/international builds s*** compared to cummins.(couple diesel mechanics int he family..they work on and service them)(i didn't say anything about fords new diesel being crap just that a v8 isn't gonna pull like a I6) (Dodge is up to 800lbft of torque too btw.) Don't believe me? Look at the last generation between ford and dodge warranty claims. If you wanna go by consumer reports and reviews and such...
You like this one?
http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com...Pickup-Trucks/
or maybe this one?
http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/...uty/index.html
Im just saying how was it truck of the year last year if its as bad as you say when you say your going by the very reports that voted it the best a year ago?? Pickuptrucks.com picked the Ram HD as the top truck in 2003...oh and motortrend. Gotta go by what they say. Must be teh best truck of 2003(period). By your rationale anyway.
If you think Fords 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are the best without a doubt then thats your opinion. I don't have to have all the fancy stuff, f-series trucks are expensive..they all are now. Maybe they(ford hd) are a little nicer(extra $8k nicer) but mechanically(inportant to me)they're the s***(dodge hd). I'm tired of ppl saying the interiors aren't nice or they sound like garbage trucks.(its a hd work truck)(Garbage trucks gotta be tough and powerful btw) Just comparing strait up powertrain to powertrain..thats why powerstrokes don't go in f650's. Thats why you won't find a v8 configuration in a Semi.

My Dad bought my daughter a tea set last Christmas off the internet... He found it in a related search when trying to find parts for his 09 Dodge 3500
