I'm looking for a car that gets as good of MPG's as possible but I really need room for 2 car seats. But I also want something that isn't boring.
Ford is my first choice because I have an awesome dealer here in town but Ford doesn't make anything that gives me a glimmer of excitement. The mustang is too small right now and I can't fit in the Taurus! The darn center console is too wide for my 6'6" frame. That sucks cause that's probably what I'd buy with the ecoboost.
The Focus is ok and what I should buy, but it's kind of boring.
Any other idea's for a part time kid hauler that can keep the blood pumping a little?
I've got the 06 expo if I need room for both kids and I'm sending the wife to the store or something.
This will be mainly for driving to work and hauling one kid to daycare/school.

Not telling you what to do but like Brad said a car payment, insurance and maintence will pay for a lot of gas, plus you got a supercrew so plenty of room for the kid
Maybe get something somewhat older so you can pay cash for it/not as much of a payment :?

If you're dead set on another vehicle, you'd be suprised at how peppy the v6 escapes are. They are actually VERY fun to drive. I've driven a 2010 with the four cylinder and we recently bought an 05 with the v6 and they are both fun to drive and lots of room in the front and back seats. (I am 6'1 and have no problems sitting anywhere in the vehicle.)
i have been looking at the fusions and they seem like very nice cars that look sporty and get between 23-35mpg depending on what motor and how you drive. ive read that the 2010's get better mpg, plus i think they look a little better to me. you can pick one up for 15K with about 40K miles.
I've got 4 vehicles currently and besides my truck the all have high miles. We need a low mileage, reliable vehicle that my wife and I can drive.
Hell I don't think my wife can even get the baby's car seat in my truck. She's only 5-3

Don't try to save me money guy's, you kinda sound like my wife!

I'm not too worried about a payment. I'd like to keep it under 550 or so but if it's something bad *** I'd go higher.

I drive 40+ miles each way to work. I'm not driving this monster @ 9-10mpgs everyday. Much less the wear on these $2K tires, blower, suspension, etc.

I'm not sure what to tell ya since the Mustang and Taurus are too small. Since I've never paid attention to any of the competitors I don't know what would suite you.
Maybe a Lambo F-150
I also have a 2001 Cougar(i know the wife bought it new when we were on a break.
) it doesn't work good with the kids but whichever doesn't have the kids drive it to work. It's got 194K on it and I'd like to replace it with a few years old vette or something when it craps out.I'll be trading in a POS 2000 Montero Sport. I'll be trading it in instead of selling it outright because I wouldn't feel good about selling it to someone.

Now I'm thinking more on the lines of a something like a charger or something but I can't bring myself to buy a Chrysler.
Just wondering if you guy's had any ideas that I hadn't thought of.
Gm products would be my second choice after Ford.
One of my friends has a Cobalt (one of the top of the line ones) not real sure what model but it runs pretty good. It's a manual and will chirp tire in 3rd gear. Only thing is I'm not sure if it's available in a 4 door. Not a lot of room in the back seat in the 2 door.
My mother in law has a four door cobalt and its not very roomy. If a Taurus is too small then the cobalt is definately out of the picture.
I would go check out a charger. They aren't bad cars and the people I know with them don't have anything negative to say about the cars.

the least I could do is test drive one!
