The Egypt Protests in Pictures (Warning, Some Are Graphic)
Didn't click on the pictures because you said they are graphic, but we need to be praying for peace there. I have heard reports of mass rape, mayhem, and looting in Egypt. Especially the singling out of Christian women being targeted for rape.
This looks like it is going to end with America having one less ally in the region.

I don't know how this will play out. BO has called for the protests to stop and for their govt to look at their citizens with the idea of a "partnership". All the protest including the ones in Washington, D.C. look for their Presidents resignation.
I never had understood the effort to go after police/army that are equipped with modern weaponry by throwing stones and sticks at them. You are just relying on them to stay defensive.
Not sure praying for peace will work at this point. Guess it can't hurt.

Thats why you fear the government that fears your guns.
I guess those pictures are graphic to those who didn't grow up with modern gaming consoles. Regardless, the situation in Egypt is just awful. Compare this to protests in Iran a few months back. Seems to me that is the place that needed a revolution like this instead of Egypt.
I still have my guns, and everyone I talk to in Govt. is appreciative I license and carry. They are more nervous over those that don't license to carry.
What concerns officers the most are the illegals around here that sell drugs. They say they are the most dangerous since they literally have nothing to lose and many of them are also gang members.
They also want the borders enforced.
I didn't look at the pictures either. I don't need to see violence.
It is bad over there.
I don't know that there is much that we can do for them. They are going to have to figure this out for themselves. What we should do here is be thankful that these pictures aren't coming from the city streets of our own country. There are people in this country who believe that a "revolution" like that in Egypt is what they need to advance thier agenda. And it's not the people who model themselves after the people who protested excessive taxation in Boston years ago. There are people with some pretty close ties to our elected representatives who believe that it will take a revolution to bring about something that they call "social justice".
Yes, it's bad over there. I don't know that violent revolution brings about the change that the people started to protest for in the first place. I hope for the best possible outcome for the people of Egypt. I also hope that we are smart enough to not have to go through that here at home.

Habs, those pics aren't even close to graphic. Some of you have had a sheltered life. Down here we get TV news from Mexico. They show people being shot and the brains drifting off in the wind...and then they show you again....and again...and again. Bodies laying the streets from the drug dealers battling. They show it all....again....and a again....and again.
I think most people in the US would like to see Egypt come out of this as free nation and enjoy the freedoms we do. But that's not going to ahppen. It will probably end up being run by the Muslim Brotherhood. I would hope I don't have to explain the issues with that for us and the Egyptian people.

I agree with you but a couple of them were photos of the guy who was shot in the head who was laying in the street. I just wanted to give fair warning to some people here who would rather not see such a site.
Sadly the majority of us are desensitized to such graphics thanks to your local news provider.
I say good for the Egyptians, they have finally said 'enough is enough'.
This is truly a case where the have-nots have had it up to their eyeballs with the 1% of the people who run things in a tyrannical fashion and keep all the spoils for themselves.
Mubarak is a billionaire and I fully predict he will step down and disappear into the night with all his loot. He will live out the rest of his life probably in London or Dubai, and things for Egypt will vastly improve as they get one step closer to a true democracy. They deserve it.
The photos in the link really do a good job of showing the pain and anguish on the faces of the Egyptian people. I wish them a better future than what they've had.

If Mubarak leaves, Egypt will only improve if you are Muslim. Otherwise, it will be time to abandon that country.
The "Muslim Brotherhood" and Elbaradei will not be as tolerant of other religions as Mubarak is.
